POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible to manage, coordinate, follow and continuously develop all RCL Newbuilding Deck and Bridge discipline areas, including Open Decks. The Superintendent is also responsible to create and follow up program for the Newbuilding design, inspection and approval processes and responsible to communicate and share the ongoing activities and information with RCL Fleet vessels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Follow up of deck, hull outfitting design related items
2. Bridge design and continous development related items
3. Coating / Anti-corrosive protection, specification related items
4. Approval of deck and bridge equipment related items
5. Reviewing of ship specification parts under the responsibility
6. Coordinate the meetings with yard and various deck and paint related vendors
7. Participate approval process for factory acceptance test (FAT)
8. Participate approval process for harbor and sea trial procedures
9. Attending coating inspections, safety related inspections and out-fitting inspections
10. Participate the LSA, Safety and Firefighting Plan related design team work.
11. Follows and applies future development in Marine technology and Industrial business.
12. Attending Bridge equipment, LSA, shell doors and other deck related Sea and Harbor tests
13. Establishes reports on each responsibility area
14. Follows the progress on each responsibility area
15. Ensures, that all related innovations and Lessons Learned from existing fleet will be implemented on future Newbuilding projects
16. Coordinate, provide information and support the Brand / start-up crew
17. Participate on Post-Delivery support
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bridge officer at Sea, 1st Officer Deck or above, high experience on navigation, bridge equipment and operating LSA.
Minimum five years of experience working on a sailing modern cruise ship.
High level communications skills. Ability proactively to create and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, development partners and with remote based colleagues
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Fluency in English
Computer literate
Deep knowledge of SOLAS and IMO
Excellent knowledge of ship technical systems, energy and environmental design and technology.
Capable of handling large systems and development projects simultaneously.
Ensure good and strong co-operation with shipyards, suppliers, development partners and colleagues.
Able to teamwork in multicultural working environment and willingness to travel
