POSITION SUMMARY
The Schedule Manager leads the scheduling function across multiple projects or programs, ensuring strategic alignment and timely delivery of complex initiatives. This role involves developing scheduling standards, governance, and best practices, and integrating schedules with cost control and risk management systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement scheduling standards and governance across projects.
- Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and report on potential risks and bottlenecks that could impact the project's timeline, scope, or budget.
- Resource Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including project management, engineering, and procurement) to ensure timely availability of necessary resources, materials, and personnel.
- Integration: Align schedules with cost control, risk management, and resource planning systems.
- Executive Reporting: Present schedule performance and forecasts to senior leadership and clients.
- Advanced Analytics: Conduct scenario planning, predictive analytics, and KPI development for schedule optimization.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Technical Expertise: Mastery of advanced scheduling tools and integration with ERP systems.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams and drive organizational scheduling strategy.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to forecast and align schedules with business objectives.
- Communication: Exceptional skills for executive-level reporting and stakeholder engagement.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversight of scheduling for mega-projects and programs exceeding €1 Billion.
- Strategic input into budgetary planning and cost optimization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Project Management or related field.
- PMP and PMI-SP certifications required.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in scheduling, including leadership roles.
- Extensive experience in mega-projects or program-level scheduling.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in multicultural environments and travel extensively.
- Advanced proficiency in communication and presentation tools.
- Language: Excellent written and verbal English required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Good physical condition, able to endure extensive walking and stairclimbing within a heavy and loud shipbuilding construction environment.
