Our site office is looking for our Vessel Pricing & Cost Optimization Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical & Design Cost Estimation
- Work with NB Technical personnel, shipyard, suppliers and third-party advisors to build cost estimates for specific vessel design and technical elements, including technical specifications, venue enhancements, and decarbonization investments and change orders.
- Support costing validation and optimization efforts for technical enhancements, new features and recurring and/or enhanced scope across multiple vessels.
Cost Tracking & Analysis
- Maintain cost tracking for evolving technical and design developments, including risks and impacts of technical and/or design options and/or scope changes.
- Support evaluation of like-for-like pricing across vessel series to highlight trends or deviations.
- Report updated (real-time) cost forecasts, variances, and risks periodically in conjunction with the Miami Pricing and Cost Optimization team
Cost Optimization & Validation
- Help identify, validate, quantify and drive cost avoidance and cost savings opportunities in partnership with NB Team, site office, yard, suppliers, relevant advisors and consultants and Miami Pricing and Cost Optimization team.
- Verify results of cost avoidance and cost savings
- Coordinate with NB Leadership and the Miami Pricing and Cost Optimization team to report opportunities and results to Newbuild, Brand, and corporate stakeholders for transparency and governance.
Program Support & Collaboration
- Serve as the on‑site finance liaison supporting white paper projects, sister ship programs, and upgrade/change initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Miami based Sr Manager and Sr Analyst of Pricing and Cost Optimization to maintain consistency in cost data, pricing and related modeling and insights.
- Recommend additional external technical resources where expanded expertise is required.
Data Models, Tools and Governance
- Define business and functional requirements for cost-estimation, cost-tracking, and optimization tools in partnership with Newbuild Technical, site office stakeholders, shipyard counterparts, and the Miami Pricing & Cost Optimization team.
- Lead the design and evolution of standardized financial data models (e.g., ship element price libraries, change-order tracking structures, and cost forecast schemas) to enable consistent like-for-like analysis across vessel series.
- Establish data governance for the models (e.g., definitions, business rules, validation logic, and versioning) to ensure traceability of estimates, assumptions, and changes over time.
- Enable repeatable reporting and insights by defining the required outputs and key metrics (e.g., dashboards, variance views, and alerts) and partnering with stakeholders to operationalize them.
- Partner with IT, Finance, and governance stakeholders to align data standards, documentation, and access principles with enterprise requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated experience in shipyard operations and/or newbuild programs, with a strong foundation in cost engineering; design-to-value exposure strongly preferred.
- Understanding of technical specifications and vessel system components.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling and communication skills, with ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
