JOB SUMMARY:   

The Revenue Analyst is responsible for the maximization of Net Ticketed Revenue and achieving the overall business plan for the Royal Caribbean brand for the Singapore market. As part of the revenue management team, the analyst will have the opportunity to set strategic direction, determine pricing, create promotions, optimize inventory, and explore new distribution opportunities.  The role will focus on the use of revenue reporting and other analysis to understand key dynamics in the booking and pricing cycle and follow up with recommendations for change that will support Royal Caribbean International’s targets and strategic growth.

 

Some of your duties include:  

 

Phase I (first 8 ~ 12 months)

  • Inventory Management – optimize available inventory and maximize load factor on all Singapore homeport ships. 
  • Group Booking Management – Work closely with the group operation team and local sales team to effectively manage group bookings on the locally deployed ship as well as Singapore & APAC group bookings on rest of world ships. Closely monitor group status, berthing requirements and balance due information and communicate actions required with key stakeholders to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Oversell Resolution / Downgrades / Recalls – manage highly sensitive guest related issues such as oversells, downgrades, split bookings which affect guest experience and profitability. In addition, be the point person to coordinate recall of unnamed group space where required.
  • Reporting – provide adhoc revenue reporting and analysis which interprets revenue performance for the Singapore and APAC markets, including but not limited to Net Availability, LF estimates, Passenger Manifests, Re-Accommodation Analysis.
  • Redeployment / Itinerary Modifications – assist with the management of all redeployment and itinerary modifications for affected guest bookings.
  • Strategic / Perishable Certificates, S@S Requests – coordinate between local stakeholders and Miami all strategic and perishable certificate redemptions and S@S requests.
  • Liaise with Miami – establish and maintain successful relationships with key stakeholders in Revenue Management. Support the revenue analysts when required and be the project lead for ship categorization changes, Spa Class launch, new cabins post-dry dock cabins etc.

 

Phase II

  • Revenue Reporting – Develop, maintain, and refresh revenue reports and analytical tools which track historic and current booking performance versus target for the Royal Caribbean International brand in Singapore and APAC markets. Provide insightful commentary to the Management Team on booking statistics and trends and make recommendations to maximize revenue and volume as well as identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Pricing – Develop strategic and tactical pricing for the locally managed Royal Caribbean ships to ensure that revenue targets are achieved.  Maintain local pricing models and load new pricing into the reservations system based on current market and economic conditions for each ship, sailing, category, passenger type and relevant currency in the assigned product and ship portfolio. Understand implications of currency changes and alter market specific pricing to optimize sourcing mix.
  • Inventory Management – Responsible for the management and optimization of stateroom inventory for 1 ship based in Singapore.
  • Campaign Management – Manage the development, implementation, and execution of promotional campaigns for local and global products for the Royal Caribbean brand.
  • Promotion Analysis – work with Commercial Analyst to undertake post promotion analysis and communicate findings to key stakeholders
  • Brand Advocate – Provide revenue management support and liaise with the Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, and Operations teams based in the Singapore market as well as communicate current pricing strategies, promotions, and product developments with regards to the Royal Caribbean International brand.
  • Helpdesk – Act as local helpdesk for the Sales, Reservations and Customer Relations teams for assistance with booking problems and reservations system functions.
  • Collateral – Provide guidance to the Marketing team in the production of promotional materials.  Includes briefing of brochures & advertising and reviewing draft collateral.
  • Market – Monitor economic indicators and competitor activity (deployment, pricing, promotions) by maintaining and utilizing the current available tools to define market size, share and value.  Report on competitor activity to Management Team.
  • Projects – Ad hoc analyses and projects to support the strategic growth of the company.

 

QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:  

  • 2-3 years in an analytical or commercial role
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar, ideally in a commercial field
  • Highly numerate.  Able to work with mathematical concepts e.g., percentages, ratios
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven experience using analytical or business Intelligence tools (e.g., Hyperion/Brio) 
  • Proven experience using reservations systems
  • MS Excel to Intermediate or Advanced level.
  • Highly motivated with initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Approachable and helpful
  • A team player
  • Desire to work in a growing company
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours
