The Role


The Senior Manager, Food and Beverage Operations plays a pivotal role in leading and optimizing the food and beverage (F&B) operations across Celebrity Frontier River. This position encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities, ranging from strategic initiatives to overseeing daily operational aspects, with a primary focus on enhancing guest satisfaction through exceptional F&B offerings.

This includes, but is not limited to, leading the strategic efforts to drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of all F&B programs for the Celebrity Cruises Frontier brand, which encompasses cost control, supply chain, food waste, new build, Dry Dock, and inventory management. The role also includes strategic oversight for F&B specifications, special projects, quality, food delivery, galley operations, equipment, training, and culinary employee recruiting.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 


F&B Performance Optimization:

 

   - Strategically lead and guide the F&B performance of Hotel Operations

   - Ensure alignment with annual plans and objectives

   - Responsible for accurate forecasting, performance analysis, and corrective actions for any deviations

 

Leadership and Team Management:

   - Provide leadership and support to a diverse team, including Managers, Analysts, and other personnel related to Celebrity Frontier River Cruises

   - Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within River Advice or any other third parties

 

Concept Development and Management:

   - Participates in the development of new F&B concepts and revitalization of existing ones in joint venture with Product Development

   - Management of F&B restaurant budgets and cost control measures with OBR

   - Monitor and assess the success of all F&B initiatives

 

Data Analysis and Communication:

   - Act as a central point of contact for all F&B-related projects, initiatives, and partnerships

   - Oversee F&B performance metrics, budgets, and specialty revenue targets

   - Continuously evaluate operational performance through feedback analysis and implement strategies for improvement

   - Communicate new F&B projects and initiatives to both onboard and shoreside teams

 

Safety and Injury Prevention:

   - Take a lead role in ensuring the prevention of F&B crew injuries

   - Develop and maintain effective safety plans and practices

 

 Project Management:

   - Drive F&B projects, including those related to New Builds and revitalizations across the Frontier River fleet

   - Oversee all food and beverage collateral fleet-wide

 

External Partnerships:

   - Manage and nurture external partnerships within the F&B domain

   - Oversee contract terms and timelines for all partnerships

 

Training, Development and Talent Management:

   - Lead training programs for new hires and existing F&B crew

   - Attract, select, train, and retain talent for F&B operations

 

Collaboration and Strategic Planning:

   - Foster collaboration with external partners and internal teams to support revenue maximization

   - Collaborate with product development for the execution of new concepts fleet-wide

   - Support the rollout of the Celebrity WAY brand culture

 

Industry Engagement:

    - Meet and collaborate with external industry partners to support F&B initiatives

 

Budget Management:

    - Monitor financial performance and implement strategies for improvement in joint partnership with OBR


Financial:

- Oversees and manages all G&A and associated costs associated with the shoreside food and beverage operations department

- Builds an annual financial plan together with OBR and manages the forecast process throughout the year

- Makes relevant capital requests as required to ensure the successful operation of all food and beverage facilities

 

Qualifications / Skills

  • 7-10 years of food and beverage or related management experience, preferably in the River Industry, cruise lines, hotels, restaurants
  • Proven leadership and food and beverage management abilities
  • Proven strategic business management knowledge and skills, including financial, product, quality assurance, human resources, and analytical skills
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing
