Superintendent, Steel & Hull
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for coordinating and updating guidelines for hull design and structural work with the yard and contractors. Approves drawings and standards for NB projects. Attends inspections, FATs and other similar site inspections related to construction of hull and its appendices. Coordinates input to the projects from in-house sources, site offices, architects and other consultants.
Responsibilities related to drawing approval, equipment, systems and related tests to be separately agreed within each project being under newbuilding supervision

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Follow up and reporting of above mentioned areas items
· Prepares specification (outline and detail) for all projects and updates specifications based on discussions with internal departments
· Participates approval processes for factory acceptance test (FAT) and for quay and sea trials
· Participates inspections, FAT, quay and sea trials
· Meets with potential makers and systems designers.
· Shares the ongoing activities with each responsibility area
· Ensures, that all innovations and Lessons Learned from existing fleet will be implemented on future NB projects.
· Applies relevant rules and regulations in the development of cruise ship design and building, including evaluation of new technology.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum Bachelor level education: Industrial Engineering, Naval Architect, Project Management or similar fields.
· Relevant experience of shipbuilding construction and design

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Experience from newbuilding site surveys, especially from the own field of expertise.
· Experience of shipbuilding and design
· Good physical condition
· Good skills to read drawings
· Good skills for communication and co-operation
· Knowledge of IACS, SOLAS and IMO
