Manager (Integration and installation) Special Projects, Owner’s works and Art.

In these areas, the Manager oversees and coordinates technical, design, financial feasibility and execution. The person in this position owns overall responsibility of defined technical project(s) design, execution, completion and leads of teams, including consultants and contractors/suppliers throughout the integration and installation process onboard the vessel.

The Manager ensures defined projects completion and flawlessly delivered according to the contracts and specifications.

The person is in charge of the successful project completion in these defined areas is including maintaining the budget within given project overall boundaries.

The work shall be performed in close collaboration between internal and external stakeholders are key to successful outcome.

Hand over to Operations with drawings, manuals, trainings if necessary.

 

Activities & responsibilities 

  • Responsible of Special Projects, OW and Art integration and installation overall scope coordination, timelines, cost & budget coordination, commissioning and relations between various teams.
  • Reports to organizational defined department head or project management team
  • Close collaboration between site office teams, contractors, designers, RCG various stakeholders and suppliers
  • Validates, under PM final approval , budget investments, including any resources oconsultants that is need for successful outcome.
  • Creates solid and trustworthy relationships with yard team
  • Maintains relationships with authorities like Classification Societies, Flag State, USPH and USCG
  • Joint responsibility with Project management team of decision making of the project related aspects as per defined process
  • Creates and reviews specifications, measurements and calculations relevant to his assigned projects. Assures proper documentation is prepared to support the build process. 
  • Reviews material and equipment specifications and makes appropriate recommendations. ·
  • Prepares the specifications including drawings and appendixes for stakeholder review.
  • Prepares or reviews design, documentation, analysis and modeling tasks using appropriate software.
  • Develops and prepares reports and records relating to particular assignments or projects.
  • Defines goals & objectives to projects under this position, as well as team personal goals & objectives, that are reporting directly to this position
  • Stays current on relevant technical research and projects; seek information and evaluate new technology for use onboard new buildings. 
  •  Establish and maintain close collaboration with key partners and stakeholders internally and externally
  • Establishing follow-up and planning at the technical project side, ensuring that main milestones are met
  •  Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • In-depth 10 years’ experience in the shipbuilding / maritime industry
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • experienced in management of complicated projects in a multi-cultural environment
  • Detailed understanding of the technical and regulatory requirements for works · good understanding of shipbuilding processes and design · deep knowledge of solas, imo, classification rules and regulations, other marine standards · excellent skills in people management · Computer literate · fluency in english · Ability to endure high stress levels

 

FINANCIAL/QUANTITIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial coordination responsibility towards turnkey and companies that are part of the installation and implementation onboard related to Special projects installation, OW, Art installation scope as defined in a contracts.
  • Exercises effective project controls for scope, schedule, and cost performance, supporting project management at the development and coordination of project cost structure and budget management
  • Works in close cooperation with defined Department Head and Project Manager and project finance team

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to walkt hrough the ship, attending meetings

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Ship under construction (noise), At the office (computer)

Significant walking and stair climbing is required, and large amount of dust and debris are present. Proper PPE are required. ( supplied by the company)

The employee may move about the office complex, onboard the ship at dock and at quay, travel to other office locations and may lift, push, pull or move 10-15 pounds. This position may regularly travel domestically or internationally.
