Analyst, Sr Financial Newbuild

Position Summary:

The purpose of this job is to support the Newbuild portfolio for Royal Caribbean Group. The finance team manages the cost of construction of Newbuilds, upwards of two billion USD per project. Within the team, this position is in charge of monitoring the contract modifications budget (in the range of 50 to 100 million USD per project), leading the change order process and challenging the shipyards offer. This position will also be part of the owner’s works process as the project comes closer to completion. The position will also assist the Financial Manager and adhoc requests, for instance on cost improvement areas identification and executive financial reports and related memos preparation for senior and executive management on a strategic level.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Build and monitors the change order budget on a daily basis (define placeholders in early phases based on the modification scope, consume this placeholder with actual offers from the yard, reports progress)
  2. Lead the change order process on the assigned projects (modification request / placeholder definition / yard offer review with the team / negotiation / team validation / leadership approval)
  3. Provide the Newbuild management and brand teams with real time estimates of the modification scope to enable prioritizing and designing to cost.
  4. Planning and forecasting, Newbuild construction special projects and adhoc capital projects. (Energy efficiency, large technical projects and change order value engineering.) 
  5. Prepares and analyzes financial results and executive financial reporting for upper management on a creative and strategic level.
  6. Participation in the development of Key Performance Indicators to include measurement and reporting.
  7. Presents and communicates results of analyses at financial meetings with the EVP of Newbuild and senior leadership.
  8. Performs special projects to improve process efficiency and performance.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Finance, Controlling or Accounting.  
MBA and/or CPA highly preferred.  
Minimum of 3 years of related financial analysis experience required.

  •    Effective communication skills (written & Verbal). 
  •    Ability to succeed in a team environment. 
  •    Ability to share information and work in a standardized environment
  •    Understanding of accounting processes, procedure and internal controls. 
  •    Excellent organization skills. 
  •    Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities with confidence and composure. 
  •    Excellent understanding of capitalized interest and capital allocation
  •    Proficient in english
