Royal Caribbean team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Financial Analyst reporting to the Director of Finance & Contact Center Operations Analysis.

 

Position Summary

This is a chance for to take financial ownership of a significant budget inside RCLs Human Resources team.  The analyst will provide support to a broad range of enterprise-level support systems, including the shoreside HR function with the budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis of the HR G&A budget, the shipboard CAM budget, and both shipboard and shoreside benefit programs.  This person must coordinate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, and summarize relevant information to create budgets and forecasts and do ad-hoc analysis as needed to continuously improve Director, VP and SVP-level decision making in the HR department.  The analyst maintains continuous contact with operating groups, including the team in Manila, and keeps current on business developments and macroeconomic trends and incorporates any changes into the forecast.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares annual budget and monthly forecasts for HR G&A accounts, in Miami, Manila and international.
  • Analyzes month-end variances and submits explanations to accounting, as well as providing explanations to HR leadership.
  • Prepares month-end journal entries, including re-classes, accruals and prepaid entries.
  • Ensures cost controls are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, accounting and other company policies
  • Supports vendor contract evaluations and facilitates timely and accurate invoice processing.
  • Develops and maintains monthly financial reports for HR leadership and brand finance, to ensure visibility, transparency and adherence to budget
  • Create dashboards in Microsoft BI for G&A reporting
  • Performs ad-hoc analysis and presentations as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in business, finance or in a technical field at a minimum
  • Experience modeling complex financial or operational systems
  • 1-3 years related experience 
  • Experience operating in a dynamic business environment
  • Strong understanding of business principles 
  • Desire to learn and deliver business decision aids to operational leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thought to complex problems 
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organization, verbal & written communication skills.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be detail oriented and able to apply critical thought to complex problems in order to identify optimal solutions.
  • Must be able to work under tight timelines, prioritizing responsibilities as needed.
  • Must work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with peers and management; ability to work with all levels of an operational business area
  • Accepts accountability and delivers results
  • Must have ability to adapt to shifting priorities and align activities to meet organizational goals
  • Prior experience with Essbase a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft BI a plus
