Royal Caribbean Group’s Crew Readiness Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Supervisor, Global Crew Readiness.

 

Position Summary / Job Purpose:

The Supervisor, Crew Readiness Operations is a people manager position reporting directly to the Global Crew Readiness Lead Operations. He/She is primarily responsible for the management of a team of 8-15 Global Crew Readiness staff and is expected to provide assistance, instructions, and guidance relative to the latter's day-to-day tasks to ensure that the team members are performing in an acceptable level of standards. He/She serves as the first point of escalation for any matter concerning his/her team member.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manages the daily operations to consistently meet the required service level.
  2. Sets goals for performance and deadlines in ways that align with the company's plans and vision, and communicates the same to his/her direct reports.
  3. Organizes workflow and ensures that employees under him/her understand their duties and responsibilities.
  4. Monitors direct reports' productivity and provide constructive feedback, mentoring, and/or coaching whichever is deemed applicable.
  5. He/She is the first point of escalation of his/her direct reports.
  6. Prepares, discusses, and submits performance reports.
  7. Recommends recipients of awards and recognitions; creates corresponding justifications for promotions of his/her subordinates.
  8. Actively mentors new member/s of the team to achieve performance goals.
  9. Ensures 100% adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertakes necessary and appropriate disciplinary action/s if needed.
  10. Supports and drives programs to identify and implement improvements
  11. Enforces a culture of innovation and improvement by encouraging and soliciting new ideas from the team.
  12. Collects and consolidates operations data and translates the same into valuable business insights
  13. Leads the practice of proper root cause analysis to ensure issues are addressed to its very root and recurrence is prevented.
  14. Drives a culture of personal development and high-level of engagement.
  15. Develops policies and procedures pertaining to the proper and efficient assistance to the crew member to complete documentations for their future assignments.
  16. Represents unit/ department/ program at internal and external meetings.
  17. Participates in the employee hiring process; develops and updates job descriptions; develops performance expectations, identify essential functions, knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job; manages employee work shifts;
  18. Monitor the progress of all documentation requirements of all crew members with future assignments.

 

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

 

  1. Graduate of a 4-year Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a related field and/or previous related professional level experience in one or more of the following functions: workforce scheduling, succession planning, recruiting and/or logistics services.
  2. At least two (2) years of experience in managing people and a team of at least 12 headcount.
  3. Understands the complexities of onboarding process of crew members; solid knowledge of the Philippine maritime industry as well as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) policies.
  4. Ability to learn a variety of job descriptions
  5. Experience working and managing teams on rotation and shifting schedules
  6. Experiences in immigration and visa requirements related to seafarers in various geographical areas; and applicable flag state/port state regulations relative to seafarers training, licenses, and certifications.
  7. Proficient and articulate in the English language
  8. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT) with experiences in MS Project and MS Visio
  9. Flexibility to work in a shifting schedule, primarily in the graveyard shift, weekends, and during local holidays
  10. Excellent ability to communicate verbally/writing in a professional business-like manner with all levels of the organization
  11. Training, coaching, and mentoring skills
  12. Process documentation in various forms: Process Mapping, Desktop Procedures, Segregation of Duties, People management, and motivational skills
  13. Good presentation skills
