Royal Caribbean Group’s Crew Port Logistics has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Specialist, Vendor Mgt & Ops Specialist.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Workforce Strategy & Movements (WSM) Team at Royal Caribbean Group is responsible for the scheduling, onboarding, travel, and expense management for all crew members working on the entire Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea Cruises fleet. This is an immense 24-7 operation that encompasses over 200,000 crew movements each year with an annual budget exceeding $250M.

 

The Specialist, Vendor Mgt & Ops Specialist will be responsible for managing the day-to-day logistical needs for crew movement and vendor management.  The logistical needs consist of, but are not limited to, managing hotel blocks, ensuring all crew have accommodation within the TravelMart system, transportation arrangements, and all other ground logistical needs within designated turn ports and non-turn ports. The specialist collaborates closely with the Vendor Management team, providing key insights that guide the selection of the most effective vendors and partners for operational needs.

 

The vendor management responsibilities consist of analyzing, negotiating, and managing vendors who provide services for crew logistics/movement, such as hotel, transportation, visas, immigration, rates sheets and any other matters.

 

This role also supports all crew members of the RCG brands (Celebrity Cruises, Silversea, and Royal Caribbean International).  The focus of this job is to support the lead and management team with analyzing, negotiating, and managing vendors who provide services for crew logistics/movement, such as hotel, transportation, visas, immigration, and any other matters. Including documentation vendor set up as well as contract process. The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day transactions, as well as managing all additional crew travel-related requirements as directed by the Crew Logistics Manager.

 

This position will work closely with the Miami Port Logistics Team and as such may be required to work Eastern Standard Time (EST) day shifts (09:00-17:00) and may be required to work local weekends & holidays based on the schedule provided.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for reporting and communicating any budget impact caused by unplanned travel, last-minute request relating to hotel and or transportation.
  • Performs special operational and analysis projects as requested. From these results the Manager makes recommendations to improve overall service and efficiency of operations.
  • Responsible for locating additional resources (i.e., Rooms, transportation etc.) when necessary for any unplanned movement. Report to Managers any budget impact.
  • Coordinates all planned turns with shoreside and shipboard management to plan all turnaround operations, including all Repositioning’s, Drydock, Wet dock, Revitalization, New builds, and /or handovers, group, trainings.
  • Ensures and validates all contract information is accurate in TravelMart and within Department SharePoint
  • Manage exceptions and overflow in TravelMart as needed.
  • Assist with training of all vendors and various internal customers as needed.
  • Manage forecasting and securing rooms for plan movements globally.
  • Responsible for handling requests in port logistics crew inbox and assistance needing from the scheduling and travel team.
  • Work closely with the Lead and Regional Manager[s] and ships to ensure services are completed.
  • Liaison between ships, vendor and shoreside Management team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Paralegal, International Relations, or Maritime Law or related, equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience working with port administration, hotel, transportation, and contract procurement, or at least four years’ experience managing maritime logistics.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience successfully negotiating terms and agreements in the best interest of the company.
  • Working knowledge of computers, internet access.
