Lead, Shipboard Recruiter
Position Summary:
The Lead Recruiter supervises the recruitment activities of their respective functional areas and teams to ensure operational objectives are achieved. The Lead is responsible for overseeing day to day recruitment productivity and aiding with the recruitment teams to ensuring hiring needs can be met in a timely manner. The Lead will support the Recruitment Manager on special projects and providing insights on recruitment effectiveness and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyzes the recruitment forecast to prepare and manage recruiter capacity and hiring velocity monthly.
- Oversees the daily sourcing and recruitment efforts to ensure a healthy pipeline of talent is available for shipboard recruiting needs.
- Improves organization attractiveness by continuously reviewing and evaluating market trends and providing recommendations to leadership on competitive total reward benefits and industry standards.
- Develops strong partnerships with HR Operations, HRBP, and the Brand to ensure alignment in hiring needs.
- Stays current with current market trends and adjust recruiting approach accordingly.
- Leverages data to provide fact-based recommendations to improve overall recruitment performance, operational efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Supports teams to ensure individual and team hiring targets are met, reviews monthly productivity reports to measure the effectiveness of recruiting processes and strategies.
- Monitors and maintains gap pool and external factors that may impact talent supply and recruitment strategies.
- Responsible for sourcing, screening, and interviewing for management and executive positions as needed. Actively sources passive candidates using sourcing tools, Boolean searches, networking, referrals and cold calling techniques.
- Conducts regular review of interview questionnaires and revises it as appropriate to suit market/s handled.
- Travels to various international or domestic locations as needed to support recruitment events.
- Utilizes various reports and dashboards to monitor productivity, effectiveness, and overall candidate management for shipboard recruiting.
- Ability to prepares various reports as required including, but not limited to, status reports, talent search reviews, and list of talent/gap pools for shipboard operations.
- Leads presentations and calls with hiring leaders to showcase recruitment efforts, effectiveness, and hiring progress. Hosts presentations and training for hiring leaders as needed.
- Provides new recruiter and refresher training to recruitment team as needed.
- Exercises judgement and mentors team members to troubleshoot & resolve issues as they arise
- Avoids legal challenges in various markets handled by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training with recruitment teams as needed.
- Ensures all recruitment policies, procedures and techniques are adhered to and recommends improvements.
- Perform any other job-relate duties assigned by their supervisor or management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources and/ or business administration from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 5 years relevant recruitment experience within hospitality and/or travel industry. Prefer candidates with global talent acquisition experience. Experience in high volume/ bulk recruiting a plus.
- Knowledge of SQM policy and MLC legislation highly recommended
- Must have previous leadership experience or demonstrate a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in recruitment with expanding responsibilities
- Knowledge of general shipboard functions on a cruise ship, and the general concept of the shipboard organization preferred.
- Demonstrated capability to recruit positions in various levels of the organization (entry to management level) required.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve complex problems with a variety of variables. Ability to analyze large datasets and report relevant finding.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; experience and ability to discuss with and influence leadership teams, as well as to collaborate with and influence various clients, stakeholders and related teams
- Ability to handle multiple projects and requisitions simultaneously.
- Strong project management and time management skills required.
- Ability to productively work under tight time constraints with competing priorities and potentially stressful situations.

- Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing, to gather and relay information in a multinational environment consisting of department heads, managers, and coworkers.

- Working knowledge of accepted human resources recruitment practices; ability to acquire knowledge of recruitment processes in various countries.
- Exceptional attention to detail required.
- Knowledge of world geography, time differences and demographic.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Must have intermediate Excel skills to include building basic formulas and knowledge of functions such as pivot tables and creating graphs and charts to be able to present data. Ability to analyze datasets and report relevant finding.
- Ability to read, write and speak in English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, co-workers, and shipboard employees.
