Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager and Finance Director, the Lead Financial Accountant plays an important role directing the Accounting Team in their day-to-day functions, ensuring compliance with all audit, statutory, tax and regulatory requirements, implementing process improvements and managing treasury requirements.
The role is part of the RCG finance accounting service function and therefore works closely with the relevant corporate functions in Miami (International Accounting, Treasury, Tax and FP&A). A critical part of the role is to ensure the business maintains effective and efficient internal controls and segregation of duties and works with both internal and external audit to achieve this. Full and timely compliance with both internal and external (regulatory) reporting requirements is essential together with ensuring the business meets all its’ external and internal Accounting, Tax and Regulatory obligations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting
-
Ensure compliance with company policies and US GAAP requirements for the APAC entities

Participate in RCL Cruises Ltd UK GAAP statutory requirements concerning the APAC entities

Accountable for all APAC balance sheet reconciliations
-
Ensure all accounting processes are conducted with integrity and accuracy
-
Managing inter-company recharges including legal documents and official communications

Ensure full compliance with local accounting standards, tax laws and regulations
Tax
-
Ensure compliance, submission and reporting of all Company tax returns

Liaise with tax advisors for APAC
-
Ensure all Statutory Requirements are met such as but not limited to the following:

BAS (Business Activity Statement)
-
IAS (Income Activity Statement)
-
Superannuation
-
FBT (Fringe Benefit Tax )
-
GST (Goods & Services Tax)
-
PAYG (Pay As You Go)
-
FTR (Freight Tax Return)
-
Payroll Tax
Treasury Management
-
Overall ownership of the banking and cash management processes.

Work closely with Corporate Treasury (Miami) to ensure the Group’s cashflows are optimized and external banking arrangements are optimized

Manage the fortnightly repatriation process

Manage the Corporate credit card process for all APAC employees
Compliance and Audit
-
Ensure full compliance and control across accounting and finance processes such as but not limited to AR, AP & employee travel expense processes

This includes all systems, processes and procedures to ensure best practice and alignment with
global standards and Australian regulations

Establish and maintain internal controls, corporate policy, and departmental procedures.
Staff Management
-
Manager and supervise and develop staff members

Develop succession strategies for the team

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a financial management role in an international organization

Experience of a multi-currency, multi-company accounting system required

Good technical knowledge and practical experience of transactional accounting, including ability to account for transactions in multiple currencies

Experience in managing and delivering appropriate internal controls and segregation of duties as well as dealing with both internal and external audit processes.

Experience in managing treasury functions.

Detailed working knowledge of Income Tax and Corporate Tax requirements

Knowledge of JD Edwards and Oracle advantageous

Strong personal organization required & ability to work to deadlines

Highly motivated and possesses ‘a can do’ attitude being proactive and enthusiastic

Experience in managing, developing and motivating a team in a similar function

Excellent stakeholder management

Ability to work under pressure and to specific timescales

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Understand and continually learn of new accounting, finance and tax standards as they arise
