Royal Caribbean Group’s Human Resources Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Counsel, Employee Relations reporting to the Senior Manager, Employee Relations Counsel.
Position Summary:
The Employee Relations Counsel shall provide assistance in connection with employee grievances and compliance with labor requirements. The role shall represent the Company in judicial and agency proceedings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the Company’s employee disciplinary process and grievance procedure, including, but not limited to, the preparation of notice to explain, conducting of administrative hearing and preparation of notice of decision;
- Assist in representing, handling and overseeing employee grievances before courts, quasi-judicial bodies or administrative agencies;
- Assist in providing training and guidance to employees to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures;
- Partner with HR and Legal teams in evaluating risk factors and developing strategies affecting business decisions and operations;
- Assist in monitoring compliance with corporate policies and applicable laws, rules and regulations;
- Manage responses to internal and external request for information and documents;
- Maintain and manage HR and Legal database;
- Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Law degree, with an active license to practice law in the Philippines;
- Strong willingness to be trained in labor and maritime laws;
- HR and/or Legal experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Technologically proficient with software applications such as SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated high proficiency in English, including correct spelling, grammar, tone, and syntax.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with a high volume of assignments
- Sound judgment and experience handling sensitive and confidential matters
- Excellent interpersonal skills, commitment to client service, and the ability to build internal and external relationships.
Physical Demands:

While performing job functions, the employee is regularly required to travel, report to work at the corporate office, sit, stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, operate a pc, communicate, listen, and assess information. The employee may move about the office complex, and may lift, push, pull or move 10-15 pounds. Visual requirements include distant, close, and color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Regular travel will be required.
