Analyst, Product Owner

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in defining product vision and roadmap in collaboration with senior product owners and stakeholders. (Consulted / Execute)
  • Maintain and update product backlog items; write clear user stories and acceptance criteria and prioritize backlog based on business value and stakeholder input. (Accountable / Execute)
  • Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint demos, and retrospectives to enable predictable delivery. (Execute / Informed)
  • Gather, document, and analyze requirements for small-to-medium initiatives; ensure requirements are testable, traceable, and aligned to business objectives. (Accountable / Execute)
  • Collaborate with development, QA, UX, and business units to clarify requirements, resolve questions, and validate delivered functionality. (Consulted / Execute)
  • Monitor delivery progress, track dependencies and risks, and communicate status and escalations to stakeholders and senior product owners. (Execute / Informed)
  • Identify impediments and escalate unresolved risks or issues to senior team members and stakeholders. (Execute / Consulted)
  • Participate in demos, workshops, and requirement walkthroughs to collect feedback and confirm acceptance criteria. (Execute / Informed)
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and promote adoption of agile and product management best practices. (Consulted / Execute)
  • Build foundational knowledge of business domains, processes, and emerging technologies relevant to assigned products. (Execute / Informed)

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in business analysis, product ownership, or related IT role.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate stakeholder needs into actionable tasks and acceptance criteria.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing requirements.

PREFERRED/NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience with agile task management tools and MS Office suite.
  • Basic understanding of process improvement concepts and product lifecycle practices.
  • Exposure to software delivery in an agile environment.

 

FINANCIAL/QUANTITIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designed as a foundational/early-career product ownership role focused on supporting delivery and building domain expertise.
  • Expected growth: increased accountability for larger initiatives, expanded stakeholder ownership, and progression toward Senior Product Owner responsibilities as experience and impact increase.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily desk-based work requiring extended periods of computer use.
  • Ability to attend meetings, workshops, and occasional on-site visits.
  • No special physical demands beyond normal office environment.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Hybrid working environment (office and remote) with flexibility required to attend agile ceremonies and stakeholder meetings.
  • May require occasional flexible hours to meet stakeholder schedules or attend cross-time-zone meetings.
