About the role

This position works as support to the Finance Manager (Europe) in Financial Accounting, Payroll, Taxes and Planning as a function within the European Newbuild Sites at the shipyards. This position helps preparing accurate accounting. This positon supports financial partnering with the Newbuilding & Innovation department and the local Senior Management. Performs other duties as required.

The above tasks are shared with the Finance Team in all European Site Offices, to be able to backup each other.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting:

- processes invoices including G/L-coding

- processes accounting review of expense reports

- partners with A/P and vendors to create and update supplier accounts (address book)
- prepares and assists in the execution of multinational payroll

- prepares and assists in month end close processes

- prepares bookkeeping according to local GAAP


Financial Planning & Controlling


- assists in controlling the G&A

- assists in preparing Forecasts and Plans
- helps to analyse variances

European Taxes:
- assists in preparing VAT returns for filing

- assists in preparing Tax Balance sheet reconciliations

 

Payroll/HR:

- cooperates with European Payroll Coordinator and local payroll providers

- analyses payroll provider reports

- executes payroll accounting

- administers employee´s corporate credit cards

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in business economics, business administration or equivalent (e.g. Steuerfachangestellte/Kauffrau für Büromanagement)

Knowledge of German or Italian GAAP

Knowledge bookkeeping, accounting, taxes and financial matters

Minimum 3 years work experience, preferably in international environment

 

Language Skills:

German and English fluently, other languages are considered as an asset

 

Reasoning Ability:

High analytical skills and high noticeability are required.
