Revenue Planning & Analytics Analyst

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Revenue Planning & Analytics Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping Royal Caribbean’s commercial performance across Australia & New Zealand. You’ll bring clarity to performance and shape decisions that lift revenue and guest outcomes across the region. It’s a role with real impact and visibility across one of the world’s most exciting travel brands.

 

You’ll blend data and storytelling to shape promotional strategy, optimise booking curves, and elevate reporting so the business can act with confidence and speed. You’ll spot opportunities, flag risks, and land a clear narrative that focuses everyone on what matters most. This role is ideal for someone who loves understanding the “why” behind results and using insight to shape commercial outcomes.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance Reporting

  • Lead weekly revenue performance reporting, delivering clear, timely insights on weekly booking trends, progress to targets, and key drivers of in‑week performance.
  • Bring energy and clarity to the weekly trading meeting, creating an engaging forum that spotlights performance, surfaces risks and opportunities, and drives focused action.
  • Provide ad hoc commercial analysis to answer business questions, quantify risks, and support decision‑making across revenue and guest performance.
  • Monitor performance against forecast, identifying shifts in demand, changes in market dynamics, and emerging risks or upside to load factor and revenue delivery.

Track & Booking Window Analysis

  • Serve as the go‑to contact for booking window and pacing insights, providing clear, timely answers to stakeholder questions and summarising performance versus expectations across products and sailings.
  • Manage and maintain track overrides, applying commercial judgement to adjust track where needed and communicating updates concisely to key stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify emerging risks and opportunities within booking window trends, translating patterns into practical recommendations that support pricing decisions, promotional timing, inventory strategy, and sailing‑level actions to maximise revenue and mitigate potential shortfalls.

Promotional Strategy & Performance

  • Coordinate the ANZ promotional calendar— lead the creation of ANZ promo‑calendar decks, distilling key insights, upcoming promotional needs, and recommended actions to guide stakeholder discussion; coordinate meetings, capture decisions, and manage follow‑ups.
  • Analyse promotional performance across all campaigns — including strategic partnerships, and product‑specific offers — providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of different promotional strategies, identifying what drives lift, where cannibalisation occurs, and how to refine future promotional plans.
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure alignment of messaging, targeting, and timing to achieve commercial outcomes.

Other Revenue Initiatives

  • Act as the subject matter expert for key revenue streams such as Cruise Covered, Air2Sea, Non-refundable deposits, and cancellation revenue.
  • Monitor performance of these revenue levers, identifying opportunities for improvement and highlighting trends that require commercial attention.
  • Provide clear analysis and commentary on how these initiatives contribute to total revenue performance and guest value.

Data, Tools & Automation

  • Modernise reporting and planning workflows by championing automation, AI, and data‑driven process improvements within the ANZ office.
  • Enhance and maintain Power BI dashboards, ensuring they are accurate, market‑relevant, and designed for clear decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with International BI to adopt new tools, analytics features, and reporting innovations that improve speed and insight.
  • Streamline manual processes to free up time for deeper analysis and improve the accuracy and consistency of commercial reporting.

General

  • Perform additional duties as required to support commercial planning.
  • Travel as needed within Australia, New Zealand, and internationally.

 

KEY STAKEHOLDERS

  • Revenue Management (Sydney): Provide insights and recommendations that help guide pricing and inventory decisions. Improve and automate RM tools and trackers (e.g., pacing, promo impact, inventory signals) so the team can focus more time on sailing management.
  • Marketing (Sydney): Deliver insight on promotional and partnership performance and help evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns. Shape, communicate, and align the promotional calendar to ensure timing, messaging, and offers meet commercial objectives.
  • Revenue Management (Miami): Stay close to global projects, tools, and initiatives, ensuring ANZ is represented and informed. Advocate for the needs, nuances, and opportunities of the ANZ market in global discussions.
  • International BI Team (Miami): Keep up to date with new tools, reporting enhancements, and AI/automation initiatives. Collaborate on dashboard improvements, data structure updates, and analytics innovations that benefit the ANZ market.
  • International Commercial (Miami): staying across global ‘Other’ revenue initiatives and providing insights on local performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, or finance related topic.
  • 3 years in an analytical, financial, or commercial role.

 

 REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Advanced MS Excel skills – confident with complex formulas, modelling, and data manipulation.
  • Strong SQL experience – able to extract, shape, and interrogate data from multiple sources.
  • Power BI expertise – proven ability to build dashboards, write DAX measures, and design intuitive visualisations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail – values accuracy and takes pride in producing reliable work.
  • Commercial mindset – able to interpret trends, connect inputs to outcomes, and think strategically.
  • Highly numerate – comfortable working with probabilities, percentages and modelling concepts.
  • Strong storytelling skills – able to present insights clearly, influence stakeholders, and land a compelling narrative.

DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience automating processes (e.g., Power Automate, Power Query, Alteryx).
  • Exposure to statistical or forecasting techniques (e.g., time‑series, regression).
  • Experience in travel, tourism, aviation, cruise, or yield‑based industries.
  • Understanding of experimentation or A/B testing frameworks.
  • Experience with revenue management systems or dynamic pricing concepts.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional and international teams.
