Royal Caribbean Group’s Entertainment team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Manager, Production Operations Administration reporting to the Director, Entertainment Operations.
Position Summary
The Manager, Production Operations Administration manages the ongoing, year-round planning, research and overall development of the Royal Caribbean Productions shoreside rehearsal operation and fleetwide cast changeover strategy. Responsibilities include creation, maintenance, and execution of all required components within the strategic plan. Additionally, this role is responsible for general supervision of the Cast Readiness & Documentation division of the operations team. This includes administrative readiness of production cast contractual agreements, logistics, documentation, travel, and visa-related requirements to ensure on-time arrival to the shoreside rehearsal facility and all shipboard assignments. This role is also responsible for the administrative data required to ensure front-end accuracy within the studio management database system.
The Manager, Production Operations Administration must successfully react to unforeseen challenges and changes in other operational areas of the organization that impact the existing production operations strategy, including rebuilding and re-deploying comprehensive adjusted plans, with the goal of keeping production shows in operation with minimal to no interruption of the guest experience. This individual must be comfortable operating within ambiguity, be forward-thinking, and embrace innovation. The manager plays a key role in both vertical and horizontal communication, internally within Entertainment Operations as well as company-wide to all relevant shoreside support departments, leadership, and shipboard management teams.
Additional management functions include general support of the operation at Royal Caribbean Productions, supporting the shoreside rehearsal and office operation at the Entertainment Studios in North Miami, FL and shipboard production operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees strategic planning of the annual fleetwide cast changeover plan for 28 ships/55 venues, to include approximately 100 cast changes per year across the fleet
- Works closely with Casting, Artistic Integrity and Wardrobe operational teams, as well as other areas of RCI Entertainment, on all aspects of shoreside rehearsal and shipboard installation planning and strategy
- Oversees shoreside studio rehearsal timeline and requirements
- Effectively communicates cast changeover and installation annual plan for entire fleet, including Theater, Ice, Aqua, Acro, Two70, and special projects
- Oversees development and distribution of Production Show Installation Schedules for all cast changeovers, including troubleshooting, as needed
- Works closely with Fleetwide Aerial Support personnel to ensure accuracy of annual fleet aerial schedule, for shoreside rehearsals and shipboard installations
- Responsible for coordinating with rehearsal logistics, studio operations, and casting teams to identify and resolve rehearsal operation challenges
- Consistently reviews strategic plan against any deployment concerns or other potential conflicts to ensure successful strategic cast change planning and execution
- Responsible for assessment and organization of shipboard extra cabin requests for shipboard training, overlap periods, installations, and special projects
- Liaises with Entertainment Newbuild to ensure sound operational plans for new ships and productions
- Identifies significant operational challenges and facilitates discussion with entertainment leadership team to ensure optimal solutions
- Supports production operations administration team to identify short-term and long-term operational needs and alignment of organization goals; implement internal policy initiatives, monitor adherence to policies, plus conducts regular process assessments for improvement opportunities
- Provides guidance and problem resolution to support escalations, ensuring service and solutions through to completion
- Fosters a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting open communication and idea-sharing

Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university in Theater, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
- Experience in the entertainment industry and cruise industry shipboard and/or shoreside a plus.
- Expertise in interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal communication in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management.
- Excellent logical and critical thinking skills, coupled with a strong ability to research and analyze, and make impactful decisions.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills required.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, receptiveness to guidance, with an ability to creatively tackle challenges under ambiguous circumstances.
- High level of emotional intelligence. Innovative thinker with a growth mindset.
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of computer systems to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Smartsheet. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and able to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to effectively handle many different projects and responsibilities at once, problem-solve and multi-task.
Financial Responsibilities
- Responsible for keeping business on track within operating budgets and identifying the most cost-effective solutions and operational opportunities.
