Naval Architect

Royal Caribbean Group is hiring a Naval Architect, based in Monfalcone.


Position Summary

The Naval Architect participates in daily ship project naval architectural routines during design and building phases. They work closely with colleagues from the Site Office, assisting with development of new technologies and validation of various technical feasibility studies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participation to ship project design and building process on the field of naval architecture
  • Participation to definition, follow up and approval process of ships structures, hydrodynamics, weight, stability, comfort and safety during the design and building phases
  • Participation to Sea Trials and validation of test results
  • Participation to concept design process for upcoming new build projects
  • Works as contact person to consultants related to vibrations, noise, acoustics, stability and wind comfort
  • Risk management process for new technologies, to identify risks properly at early stage of project
  • Quality Assurance during building phase for compliance with applicable standards.
  • Feasibility studies for different field of technologies as needed
  • Participation to ships naval architectural and regulatory work with Classification Society, Flag Administration, USCG, etc.

Key Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, MS Project or equivalent, PowerPoint,
  • Capability to use design programs like Autocad etc.
  • Good skills to analyze and develop specifications, drawings, layouts and other technical documentation.
  • Understanding of shipbuilding project and programming processes.
  • Basic knowledge of SOLAS, IMO, classification rules and marine standards.
  • Fluency in English, other languages as advantage.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Communication and co-operation in multicultural working environment.
