ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The Financial Analyst/Controller will integrate the Financial Planning & Analysis team within the Financial Department and will be responsible for the cost control of the activity of the company, implementing effective cost control measures through accurate reporting to enable decision making by management. He/She insures business operational link between Finance and brand departments.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Planning and Budgeting:

  • Lead the quarterly Forecasting (N) and Plan (N+1) processes for the brand.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to gather and validate financial data.
  • Identify key financial and operational metrics to track performance and progress.
  • Provide detail analysis on forecast and plan changes.

 

Monthly Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis with commentary of fluctuation, including variance analysis monthly.
  • Prepare monthly dashboard for departments and support in additional requests.
  • Define the means and appropriate indicators of the controlled activity and perform variance analysis of monthly results including root cause analysis.
  • Take actions during month end closing that all necessary accruals are in books.
  • Provide Real time control of the operating activity of activity through the control of the purchasing cycle (PO, Invoices, Cost comparison, Budget).
  • Closely track projects expenses and commitments, measure progress of the projects against schedule and authorized budget, report projects status and update the forecasts accordingly.

 

The Financial and quantitative responsibilities of the role are:

  • Lead planning cycle for the brand especially for G&A activities ($38M) and Crew expenses ($180M) but not limited to this.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of G&A and Crew activities.
  • Identifying “PAR Levels or Crew Count” or “Average Price” by ship.
  • Provide necessary accruals for the month to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Explain variances above $100K on a monthly basis against forecast and plan.
  • Provide support on ad hoc requests.
  • Prepare and load Statistical data in planning tool and provide necessary details for SOX compliance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • +2 to +3 year of experience in financial analysis, auditing and/or accounting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems and huge database).
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships.
  • Fluent in English, French (optional) and Spanish (optional).
  • Demonstrates strong communication and written skills. Ability to interface with all levels of employees effectively.

  • Demonstrates ability to provide support for effective business decisions, cost saving efforts, financial planning and reporting.
