ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The Procurement Buyer reports to the Procurement Director Food, Beverage and Hotel by developing short, medium and long-term agreements in line with Silversea needs at lowest total cost. The buyer will be involved both in New Build and Special projects and Hotel Category projects, for these ones she / he will be supporting the Procurement Manager Hotel. Will ensure full alignment with Hotel Operations, Hotel Superintendents and other internal stakeholders on New Build, Refits and Hotel requirements, develop strategic supplier partnerships and develop alternative supply options to reach best total cost of ownership on requested quality. She / He will constantly ensure the best in class processes of bidding and benchmark in order to define vendor partnerships and service agreements at best quality with lowest cost, in coordination with the other Procurement teams of the Group in order to achieve synergies, volume bundling and economies of scale.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Clear understanding of New Build, Refits and Hotel portfolio needs, internal and external requirements

 

• Constantly update market trends and price developments on all main products related to NB-R-H categories

 

• Continuously review supplier markets to develop alternative supply options, cost reduction, and develop innovative purchasing methodologies and systems

 

• Perform Biddings/RFQ/RFP and support Manager’s projects applying standardized processes and reporting

 

• Support new products implementation making sure to fulfill stakeholder request in terms of quality and specifications and secure the lowest price at the highest quality standards

 

• Successfully implement strategies and support Group synergies

 

• Manage Risks & Ensure Contractual Integrity by ensuring full signature of T&C’s and Item Specifications before awarding business

 

• Negotiate purchase price, terms of payment and contractual conditions to achieve the lowest economical cost consistent with quality, service and operational performance requirements identified.

 

• Make sure to negotiate the lowest prices accordingly to ethical compliance and transparency

 

• Place and continuously manage contracts in line with purchasing policies at agreed service levels and KPI’s

 

• Collaboration with internal stakeholders, mainly Hotel Operations/Marketing/ships/A.P

 

• Support Hotel Managers on Procurement-Accounting back office activities

 

• Monitor vendor performance

 

• Continuously scout the worldwide markets seeking for best in class service and partnerships

 

Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a commercial/business field

 

• 2 + years of experience in a F&B and/or Hotel Category role, or any Procurement / Supply Chain or Hotelerie / Ho.Re.Ca related job

 

• Strong analytical skills with attention to details

 

• Ability to use large set of data from multiple sources to create high quality reporting

 

• Effective planning, organization, and project management skills

 

• Financial awareness to TCO concept

 

• Proficiency in MS Excel

 

• Strong written and verbal communication in English (French, Italian, Spanish will be a plus)
