Skillbridge Intern Engineer, InfoSec Business Enablement

Position Summary: 

The Intern, InfoSec Business Enablement Engineer is an expert in various technologies, providing consultation to help IT teams secure their systems. The role focuses on advocating for security and IT, identifying innovative solutions, creating reusable guidance that addresses common security problems, and validating systems to improve their security and enable self-service across the organization. Responsibilities include deploying new security tools, supporting key projects, and assisting with mergers and acquisitions.

The position requires a strong understanding of security standards and the ability to assess new systems against these standards while ensuring security and business agility.

General Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Act as security experts to drive security improvements for both new and legacy systems.

  • Deploy new technologies quickly and ensure smooth handover to the Security Operations Team for ongoing support.

  • Work closely with project teams to understand complex systems, apply security controls, and ensure they are manageable in the future.

  • Develop and validate security patterns through collaboration and testing.

  • Create strategies that stay ahead of business needs and provide proactive security solutions.

  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with strong follow-up skills.

  • Drive results and become the go-to expert for engaging and solving security challenges.

 

Eligibility:

  • Must meet DoD SkillBridge qualification requirements (DODI 1322.29)

  • Must have unit commander written authorization to participate prior to applying

  • Must participate through Hiring Our Heroes program

  • 5+ years of IT experience, including 2+ years in InfoSec roles

  • Technical expertise in multiple security disciplines including network security engineering, endpoint security, identity & access management, cloud security, data security, DevSecOps, etc.

  • Deep knowledge of securing Active Directory, Azure AD, and Cloud environments.

  • Experience with Kubernetes, CIS benchmarks, and Zero-trust design preferred.

  • Entrepreneurial approach to solving security challenges with strong consultative skills.
