Royal Caribbean team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Specialist, Retail Operations reporting to the Senior Director, Revenue Operations & Partners.
Position Summary
The Senior Specialist, Photo & Retail Operations responsible for facilitating successful operations of Photo & Retail functions for Onboard Revenue. Assist with development and sourcing of new photo and retail items, product set up in internal systems and e-commerce platforms, development and execution of pricing and promotion strategies, creating and monitoring visual merchandising standards, creating and enforcing procedures for operational execution in each business area: Photo, Private Destinations Retail Shops, Gifts & Gear Ecommerce and In-house Retail for Royal App. Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth operation of the online stores, monitoring product availability and maximizing fulfillment rates. Working with procurement and external partners to plan inventory replenishment and ensure uninterrupted supply of active products. Review product performance and create exit strategies for closeout items. Monitor revenue, booking rates and other KPI’s and work with the shipboard and shore side teams to ensure that all standard operating procedures, policies, and directives are being implemented and adhered to as directed. Work with all the necessary systems that are needed to make the product operational, while looking for new/more efficient systems that improve revenue, productivity, and guest satisfaction.
Must have detailed knowledge of all working areas of the onboard cruise ship culture and operations, processes of order fulfillment for amenities and involvement of various departments onboard and shoreside. Have a thorough understanding of how to manage e-commerce platform, set up inventory, create new product, implement operating procedures and be pro-active in quality control. Communicate regularly with onboard teams to ensure smooth operations and provide necessary support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clear understanding of Photo & Retail Operations, including planograms, selection of product mix, visual merchandising, set up and use of point-of-sale system, best practices in pricing and promotions, inventory control and replenishment schedules.
- Support shipboard and island teams, provide guidance and training.
- Set up merchandise planograms and ensure timely updates and adherence.
- Create, update, and execute promotions via all available marketing channels onboard and online. Work with marketing team to create and maintain necessary printed materials and digital content.
- Ensure adherence to inventory control procedures, monitor compliance, and resolve issues. Facilitate reverse logistics process, manage spoilage levels and apply supplier credits.
- Clear understanding of online ecommerce platform structure, product set up procedures, system flow of order processing, reporting, and management of product inventory availability for each market.
- Works closely with third-party supplier partnerships to present a seamless operation to the guest.
- Must possess knowledge of the hospitality industry, current market trends, and economic factors; preferably within an international organization and accustomed to working with a highly diverse and remote work group.
- Works with shipboard teams to implement strategy on a daily basis to drive business goals and delegates effectively.
- Assist in delivering projects end-to-end on time and on budget.
- Develop, communicate, and champion best practices for efficiency improvements, team-building, training procedures, and revenue drivers across fleet

- Responsible for achieving Net Revenue targets for each revenue areas through proactive analysis, planning, and execution of new initiatives.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- High school graduate (or equivalent) College degree in Business Management or related field is a plus.
- Minimum of three years in Retail Management
- Shipboard experience strongly preferred
- Must be willing to travel frequently and work flexible hours.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom – preferred.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to manage remote team.
- Ability to complete tasks on time and within limited supervision.
- Problem solver to help develop operations and make sound recommendations.
- Creative ability to visually merchandise the store.
- Detailed working knowledge of all working areas of the onboard cruise ship culture, onboard photo, brand guideline procedures, rules and regulations.
- Ability to travel for extensive periods for existing fleet and new builds, which includes staff training, revenue operations and brand compliance.
- Ability to represent confidently, positively, and effectively the Onboard Revenue Department shipboard and shore side.
- Knowledge of current Photo, Spa and Retail industry best-practices.
- Ability to read and write extensive and complicated procedures and instructions.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to problem solve and work under pressure.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally and work flexible hours.
- Exceptional ability to work independently, proactively, and collaboratively.
Physical Requirement
