The Royal Caribbean Group’s has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Manager, Tech Photo Operations reporting to the Senior Director, Revenue Operations & Partners.
Position Overview
Manage and lead shoreside In-House Photo Team to successfully grow photo revenue operations and positive guest satisfaction results. Thorough understanding of shipboard photo operations and digital photo systems. Ensure brand compliance with all photo merchandise/products
Key understanding of digital photo hardware systems and IT requirements, and a proven leader in technology advancements required. Incumbent will oversee all the necessary systems that are needed to make the product operational, while looking for new/more efficient systems that improve revenue and productivity.
Position responsible for Photo Operations and is accountable for Net Revenue targets for twenty-six vessels. This includes accountability for all business, personnel, and technical activities related to Photo and must be able to work independently to make critical decisions to improve performance and to generate new revenue ideas from individual analysis. Position will also lead the development of the Photo Management team onboard each ship and representing them shoreside in resolving issues in a proactive and efficient manner.
Role will drive and support strategic initiatives that will include but are not limited to the implementation of new photo technology; regulatory compliance; create and modify policy and procedures; logistics; refurbishment; new ship builds; internal controls; audit support; shipboard photo personnel hiring, scheduling, coaching, and developing and photo marketing. Expand the onboard business in line with the company vision and objectives. Must have detailed knowledge of all working areas of the onboard cruise ship culture, onboard photo operations including Photo Gallery operations, Photo Lab operations, environmental compliance, rules and regulations and also have a thorough understanding of how to implement procedures and be pro-active in quality control.
Must ensure that all staff are adequately qualified, trained and certified for their own individual roles, including Photo Lab Technician, Assistant Photo Manager & Photo Manager.
Communicates regularly with onboard photo teams to ensure operations, support, revenue and targets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize Net Revenue while also creating a customer-service culture that achieves ratings targets
- Champion understanding and adherence to internal control procedures with the aim of zero Audit findings.
- Produce professional business cases for proposed changes complete with operational and financial analysis and clearly articulated written support
- Deliver projects end-to-end on time and on budget
- Develop, communicate, and champion best practices for efficiency improvements, team building, training procedures, and revenue drivers across fleet
- Influence and communicate with peers and other departments to progress initiatives
- Ability to monitor and analyze new technology and trends within all photo revenue areas to provide guests with innovative (first to market) services that embody the Royal Caribbean brand and guests
- Work with IT and software development team to develop and implement new initiatives
- Clear understanding of automated camera systems, infrastructure, and implementation requirements.
- Work closely with third-party supplier partnerships to present a seamless operation to the guest.
- Manage procurement responsibilities for New Builds, Refurbishments and Revitalization
- Oversee equipment management, maintenance, and Service Technicians.
- Manage succession planning for Photo positions
- Conduct hire sessions as required
- Identify areas of opportunity through data and technology analysis and demonstrate successes through predetermined metrics, quantitative and qualitative.

Qualifications and Education
- High school graduate (or equivalent) College degree in Business Management or related field is a plus.
- Minimum of five years in Photo Management and seven years of Photo Operations experience.
- Shipboard Photo experience strongly preferred.
- Must be willing to travel frequently and work flexible hours.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, ROES, Windows, Android, iOS, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to manage remote team.
- Ability to complete tasks on time and within budget.
- Innovative problem solver to help develop operations and make sound recommendations.
- Ability to transform both qualitative and quantitative data into actionable reports.
- Detailed working knowledge of all working areas of the onboard cruise ship culture, onboard photo, brand guideline procedures, rules and regulations.
- Ability to travel for extensive periods for existing fleet and new builds, which includes staff training, photo revenue operations and brand compliance.
- Knowledge of policies and practices involved in the human resources function and ability to utilize and administer the disciplinary action process through coaching and counseling to improve performance or terminate employment
- Ability to represent confidently, positively, and effectively the Photo Operations Department shipboard and shore side
- Knowledge of current Photo industry best-practices
- Ability to effectively manage direct and indirect reports
- Strong ability to interpret data and external reports to generate individual analysis
- Ability to read and write extensive and complicated procedures and instructions

- Responsible for achieving Net Revenue targets for each vessel through proactive analysis, planning, and coaching.
- Develop understanding and knowledgeable execution of complimentary reinvestment.
- Deliver projected ROI for photo new builds, refurbishments, and revitalizations.
