The Royal Caribbean Group’s Global Enterprise Technology Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Engineer, Connectivity reporting to the Senior Manager, Connectivity Engineering.

This position is onsite and based in Miramar, Florida.

Position Summary:

The Senior Infrastructure Connectivity Engineer plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing robust physical infrastructure solutions that ensure seamless global connectivity across our fleet, shoreside and corporate systems. This position drives strategic infrastructure initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and guest experience through reliable and secure Layer 1 architecture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Designs and optimizes high-performance Layer 1 physical infrastructure for maritime and land-based operations.
• Leads the implementation of enterprise-grade connectivity solutions ensuring scalability, redundancy, and security.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate connectivity solutions with onboard systems, data platforms, and cloud environments.
• Monitors and analyzes performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement and minimal downtime.
• Manages vendor relationships and negotiates service-level agreements for infrastructure services.
• Champions innovation by assessing emerging technologies and recommending strategic upgrades to maintain leading-edge capabilities.
• Provides mentorship to junior engineers, fostering technical excellence and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications and Education:

• 5-7 years’ experience with Layer 1 Infrastructure Design and Installation
• High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Exceptional and in-depth technical knowledge of the physical layer including cabling plant systems, and data related power, cooling, and fire suppression systems.
• Experience in creating and working with complex infrastructure designs and with organizing, planning, and executing architectural projects.
• Excellent knowledge of current pertinent industry standards and codes (TIA/EIA, IEEE, etc.).
• Ability to understand construction prints and documents in CAD, Revit, PDF and other formats.
• Experience in working/leading large projects involving multiple departments, business representatives, stakeholders, contractors and others.
• Knowledge and understanding of IT systems, flow charts, data concepts, and telecommunications principles.
• Working knowledge of IP reliant systems that are part of modern construction projects, including but not limited to, Audio Visual, Physical Security (CCTV and Card Access), Wireless (WiFi, DAS, PtP, Satellite), Building Automation.
• Bicsi RCDD or similar Certification preferred.
