Royal Caribbean Group’s IT – Shipboard Newbuild Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Program Manager reporting to the AVP, IT Newbuild and Construction.
This position is located in Miramar, Florida.
Position Summary
The Program Manager position oversees a portfolio of programs and projects in the IT Product Construction organization. The role liaises with Product Construction leadership to ensure strategic alignment with business goals, driving standardization of project management practices, ensures stakeholder alignment and financial accountability across the portfolio. The role also acts as a bridge between executive leadership and program/project delivery teams, ensuring governance, transparency and value realization. The role will provide high-level oversight, facilitating decision-making direction for managing resource allocations across projects, assessing risks, and monitoring overall portfolio performance to optimize results and to meet strategic objectives for all projects under management.
Role will partner with managers across the IT Production Construction portfolio to manage and drive scope change management, financial management and resource management across multiple projects ensuring timelines and resources are aligned for execution. Champion the standardization of tools and processes across all programs and projects within the IT Product Construction Portfolio.
Effectively communicate with stakeholders, colleagues and partners of various levels across the broader organization through various mediums (i.e.. presentations, email, formal/informal meetings).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Define and maintain portfolio governance structures, standards, and methodologies across all programs and projects.
- Ensures portfolio alignment with organization strategy, business objectives and priorities – specifically applies to the change/scope management processes.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to evaluate, prioritize and balance project investments
- Follow-up on team members to meet project/program deadlines and provide input on team member activities for schedule review process.
- Drive adoption of consistent project management processes, tools and templates with focus on financials, scope and risk management.
- Lead monthly/bi-weekly or weekly IT meetings to drive scope change management, financial and risk management as well as resource management across programs.
- Establish and maintain a portfolio-wide reporting framework for project status, risks, dependencies and outcomes.
- Promote knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and continuous improvement across the program/project portfolio.
- Tracks timing, budget, cost control, and reporting. Proactively and accurately manage projects/program financials to meet department planning, forecasting, and reporting deadlines
- Leads, mentors, influences and supports Program and Project managers on complexity of projects and assignments.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, to meet common goals and prioritize the resolution of conflicting issues.
- Work collaboratively with Capital Planning, Product Teams and IT Finance to develop and maintain the strategic multi-year funding roadmap of the portfolio.
- Maintain an integrated portfolio roadmap and master schedule, supporting interdependencies across IT Product construction, and IT operations.
- Manage vendor financial deliverables, contracts, and billing aligned to project milestones and scopes.
- Provide senior leadership with insights and recommendations through dashboards, reports, and presentations.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience working in Financial management of large IT initiatives, program and portfolio management.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Experience with technical, user, and business issues in a fast-paced hospitality organization.
- Proven analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions that ensure projects/program are delivered on schedule and within budget.
- 5+ years of Program Management preferred.
- Ability to think strategically and drive ideas into action, with a positive outlook and willingness to take personal initiative.
- Experience with technical, user, and business issues in a fast-paced online organization.
- Experience working with project execution teams to drive standards for program execution
- Strong background in financial management, budgeting and forecasting.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication and project leadership skills, including an ability to communicate and influence at an executive level.
- Possesses analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop project deliverables.
- Proven ability to collaborate with and achieve results through others, plus the ability to build strong and balanced relationships, and the capability to interact within all levels of the organization.
- Effectively provide overall leadership across multiple teams, while working collaboratively to delivery with quality on time.
- PMP, PgMP, MoP or equivalent portfolio/program management certifications are preferred.
