Manager, Design and Technical Procurement

Royal Caribbean Group’s Procurement team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Manager, Design and Technical Procurement reporting to the Director Procurement.

 

Position Summary


The Design and Technical Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing all procurement activities related to design categories. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that procurement strategies align with the company’s overall goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes, strategic sourcing, and supplier performance management. This position includes direct reports and requires strong people management skills to lead, develop, and support a high-performing procurement team.

 

This position isonsite based in Miramar, FL.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management:
    • Oversee supplier onboarding and manage supplier agreements and amendments.
    • Build and maintain collaborative and strong partnerships with key suppliers.
    • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and development initiatives.
    • Drive supplier improvement initiatives to lower risk and reduce lead times.
    • Influence suppliers' development processes, technology decisions, and policies.
  • Procurement Strategy:
    • Develop and manage the internal customer’s annual category strategic procurement vision.
    • Create and execute end-to-end strategic procurement processes and sourcing strategies.
    • Identify global sourcing opportunities to maximize operational efficiencies.
    • Develop and own the process for cost savings and spend management within assigned categories.
  • Contract and Financial Management:
    • Direct the RFP process with suppliers and lead price negotiations.
    • Manage Statements of Work (SOW) execution, purchase orders (PO), and invoice management.
    • Facilitate resolution of product warranty claims and order/delivery discrepancies.
    • Evaluate and analyze potential risks to the project portfolio from a supply chain perspective and develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    • Set targets and monitor supplier performance using Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Provide regular updates on strategic sourcing initiatives and report on business and supplier performance.
    • Contribute to ongoing review, improvement, and enhancement of procurement processes, tools, and systems.
  • Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Work collaboratively with internal partners and stakeholders to ensure alignment and prioritization of goals.
    • Provide strategic direction and leadership in executing purchase requests and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven environment.
    • Perform other duties as required, and drive initiatives to support the organization’s cost reduction objectives while maintaining quality and delivery performance.
