The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time IT Finance Manager on the Information Technology Team reporting to the Senior Manager of IT Finance and Labor Planning.  

 

This position sits on-site in Miramar, FL. 

 

Position Summary:  

The Manager role includes forecasting, planning, reporting, and accounting for the global Information Technology organization.  

 

The position involves managing financial activities including cost planning, cost estimates, financial analyses, cost reduction initiative tracking, monthly detailed accounting entries review, and forecasting of specific organization costs.   

 

The candidate must have a broad background of industry best practices and performance metrics, as well as financial and accounting acumen.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Manage a team of Financial Analysts engaged in forecasting, planning, reporting, and accounting for the global Information Technology organization.    

  • Manage accounting for organization costs including variance analyses.  

  • Ownership of IT annual plan and monthly forecasts submitted to Corporate Planning including reporting to financial and operations management. 

  • Review monthly journal entries for referenced activity, in accordance with U.S. GAAP. 

  • Manage reporting and scorecard metrics for Information Technology management team including detailed variance analyses for actuals compared to plans/forecasts.

  • Facilitate metric re-designs, as needed, to provide management team (finance and operations) with result indicators to manage financials effectively. 

  • Re-design/develop reporting, as needed, to accommodate operational requests and provide guidance to meet or exceed financial goals. 

  • Improve financial status/awareness by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management.  

  • Develop and prepare financial models, presenting and analyzing financial data in current status and what-if scenarios. 

  • Work collaboratively with various internal teams (operational, financial, etc.) to ensure contract renewals and invoice payments are completed timely. 

  • Collaborate with supply chain, legal, and operational owners on vendor negotiations with sufficient lead time to present options/findings to management for review. 

  • Special projects involvement/ownership, as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance.  

  • Minimum 7+ years related work experience, 3+ years managing direct reports.  

  • Experience applying finance and accounting principles is essential.   

  • MBA and/or CPA preferred.  

  • Experience with U.S. GAAP adherence required.  

  • I.T. Finance or technology-related experience highly preferred.  

  • Experience with ownership of Sarbanes-Oxley controls and testing.  

  • Experience with JD Edwards/Oracle applications & Essbase/EPM is highly preferred. 

  • Apptio experience a plus.  

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organization, verbal & written communication skills. 

  • Working with team/function members across all levels within organization / externally and delivering recommendations and results to senior management.  

  • Capable of making independent decisions and delegating to team members as needed.  

  • Advanced analytical skill set including critical thinking.  

  • Experienced in Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint. 

  • Intermediate or above skills in Excel.  

  • Must be detail oriented.  

  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills for interacting with external and internal partners and delivering recommendations and results to senior management.  

  • Results-oriented team player.  

  • Ability to manage up/down within and across the organization.  

  • Must be able to work under tight timelines, prioritizing assignments as needed.  

  • Must work independently with tasks assigned.  

  • Must be able to type proficiently.
