Position Summary:
The Financial Analyst is a forward-looking, hybrid role that blends traditional financial planning & analysis with the systems, data, and automation skills. As our team evolves and adapts to AI, this role exists to modernize how IT Finance plans, reports, and makes decisions — pairing sound finance and accounting judgment with the ability to analyze, design, and enhance the systems and data pipelines that power our forecasting, month-end close, and decision-support processes.
The Financial Analyst supports the RCG Global Enterprise Technology areas, partnering closely with project and operational leaders to manage project financials, risk, and opportunities while continuously improving the tools, workflows, and analytics behind them. The role coordinates across all levels of the organization to gather, analyze, and summarize information to create and maintain budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans, and to translate business needs into scalable, technology-enabled reporting and automation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets, including the five-year strategic plan, for the Global Enterprise Technology organizations.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and assist in preparing presentations as needed.
- Prepare month-end journal entries, including re-classes, accruals, prepaid entries, and amortization schedules, and ensure invoices are monitored and coded appropriately based on the chart of accounts.
- Organize and conduct meetings with project and operational leaders to review budget status, monitor scope commitments, and escalate potential risks promptly.
- Analyze existing IT Finance systems, workflows, and reporting processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization and automation.
- Design and recommend system enhancements and reporting frameworks that support month-end close, forecasting cycles, and operational analytics.
- Configure, customize, and optimize enterprise reporting and business intelligence platforms (including Power BI) to improve data integration, visualization, and self-service reporting.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies — including AI-enabled capabilities and automation tools — into finance processes to improve efficiency, forecasting accuracy, and decision support.
- Build and maintain data models, queries, and system-driven pipelines that consolidate and transform financial and operational data into structured outputs and dashboards.
- Apply quantitative and analytical techniques to evaluate data trends, and translate business requirements into functional specifications that guide system enhancements.
- Create and maintain system documentation, workflow diagrams, and user guidelines, and provide training and support to drive adoption of new tools and analytics across the team.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis, presentations, and special projects, and support overall Technology organization financial goals and objectives.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems / Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of related experience with a medium-to-large company preferred.
- I.T. Finance or technology-related experience highly preferred; experience applying finance and accounting principles is essential.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficient in Word and PowerPoint.
- Skilled in configuring and optimizing BI and visualization tools, especially Power BI (Tableau or similar a plus).
- Hands-on experience with data analysis, reporting automation, and query tools such as Power Query, SQL, Python, Databricks, or similar technologies to standardize reporting and improve efficiency.
- Experience integrating automation and AI tools into enterprise systems to improve workflow efficiency, forecasting accuracy, and data reliability.
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional system specifications; experience with Oracle applications & EPM highly preferred.
- Advanced analytical skill set with strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal & written communication skills; able to work with team members across all levels of the organization and externally.
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and results-driven team player able to work independently.
- Strong writing and presentation skills, communicating information clearly and concisely.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment.
