The Royal Caribbean Group’s Facilities Management Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Sr. Project Manager reporting to the Sr. Director, New Campus Development.

 

This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida

 

Position Summary:

 

Seeking a solid Sr. Project Manager to oversee the design and construction of Royal Caribbean Group’s new campus in PortMiami (i.e. ‘Project Skyline’).   This position will report to the Sr. Director of Corporate Campus Development and will oversee all aspects of this project (from design, construction, and start-up) including direct oversight of the Architect of Record, General Contractor, Owner’s Representative and counter parts within Miami-Dade County and PortMiami.  Noting that the project will be largely financed by the government, the Sr. Project Manager will be integral in establishing and administering the commercial processes that will be required to comply with internal and governmental requirements.  Lastly, the Sr. Project Manager will partner with internal stakeholders (including executives) in order to develop and execute an employee engagement and communication plan, , facilitate a start-up plan for the campus and develop an operational model for the new campus.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Support the Sr. Director to oversee all aspects of the project including a broad team consisting of the General Contractor, Architect of Record, Owner’s Representative, and other consultants
  • Manages negotiation contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders; works with all stakeholders in order to execute (e.g. Legal, Suppl Chain, Finance, Accounting, etc.)
  • Interprets and distills project status analytics;  creates / oversees executive-level reports that summarize project status, makes recommendations and quantifies risks in a succinct manner
  • Facilitates necessary and timely decisions during construction (e.g. Change Orders) and communicates consequences effectively; able to effectively balance trade-offs between time, risk, cost
  • Oversees the administration of the project management and governance model
  • Establish and administer the commercial processes that will be required in order to comply with internal and governmental requirements
  • Leads the space planning exercise with the company by working with senior executives and design professionals to propose work space assignments and outline associated costs, trade-offs
  • Lead the Employee Engagement and Communication panel (which will consist of executives) in order to develop and execute an employee engagement and communication plan throughout the life of the project
  • Holds external/internal stakeholders responsible for decisions and quantifies impacts (delays, cost); resolves, escalates and manages appropriately
  • Directs and manages a broad range of activities associated with pre-design, design, pre-construction, construction, and closeout
  • Responsible and will manage a team of Project Management professionals and consultants
  • This position will be based in Miami
  •  About 10% travel
  • Will heavily support the Sr. Director in managing a $500M project budget
  • Lead internal (Capital Committee) and external (Miami-Dade County) reporting
  • Oversee all contracting / invoicing / payment applications for the project

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • 10-15 years in general project management experience including,
    • 5+ years experience in design preferably with a major architecture/design/construction firm
    • 5+ years experience in project management in a corporate setting (large scale)
    • 2-5 years experience in government contract management

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, business construction management, architecture or similar field of study
  • Experience with commercial projects (retail, restaurant, hospitality)
  • Executive presence and exceptionally high communication skills
  • A proven ability to manage a complex and dynamic field of stakeholders
  • Demonstrate high standard of persona; accountability and integrity. Mentor staff to the same high standards
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel), Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar project management software
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • PMP
