Sr. Newbuild Recruiter

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Recruiter for our Newbuild team is an individual contributor position responsible for the recruitment and selection of highly specialized positions within the Newbuild and Innovation department. This is a global recruitment position responsible for recruiting for positions in the US, France, Finland, Germany, Italy etc. This role is responsible for establishing and developing relationships ensuring a strong diverse network of sources to efficiently attract strong executive, management, and professional level candidates.

You will partner effectively with hiring managers to source, assess and hire the best talent for our Newbuild department. This role will drive the recruiting process for technical roles, uncovering great talent, delivering a superb candidate experience, and ultimately closing the right candidates.

 

NOTE: This is a full-time in-person role based in the company’s headquarters in Miami, FL. Applicants must be available to work in Miami, FL Monday – Thursday, with work from home on Friday.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Drive the hiring process for assigned roles, working closely with hiring manager, HRBP and internal teams to determine competencies needed for each role, manage the hiring process, bubbling up any roadblocks along the way.
  2. Execute on hiring initiatives for a variety of functional roles across multiple countries.
  3. Partner with hiring teams to build effective sourcing strategies and execution.
  4. Collaborate with global and regional teams.
  5. Deliver pipelines of talent for open roles, using a combination of sourcing, networking, and applicants from targeted sources.
  6. Ensure a great candidate experience by following up with candidates in a timely fashion and providing transparency throughout the process.
  7. Must be able to source and attract passive candidates, targeting skilled individuals from other organizations as well as a strong network.
  8. Recommend ideas and strategies related to recruitment that will contribute to the long-range growth of the department, implementing any new processes and fine-tuning standard processes for recruiting that fits within Newbuilds mission to deliver the highest quality results.
  9. Articulate in writing a plan with deliverables, timelines, and a formal tracking process.
  10. Participate with Global TA Director in special projects/recruiting initiatives, including assessment of best practices in interviewing techniques, leveraging of internal sources of talent and identification of top performers for mid to senior-level openings.
  11. Establishes, develops, and maintains relationships with a network of recruiting agencies and related sources that efficiently recruit professional employees in accordance with company policy and procedure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years full life cycle recruiting experience in a global, matrixed environment. Corporate recruiting experience.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple searches, projects, and client relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of accepted human resource practices and all applicable laws governing employment and fair treatment of employees.
  • Proven ability to conduct competency-based interviewing. Strong interviewing skills: ability to understand and further the organizations business objectives and employee performance objectives.
  • Ability to acquire knowledge of general shipyard functions, and the general concept of the matrix organization. Familiarity of world geography and time differences.
  • Working knowledge of accepted human resources recruitment practices. Ability to acquire knowledge of recruitment processes in various countries.
  • Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with candidates within established guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing, to gather and relay information in a multinational environment consisting of department heads, managers, coworkers, and shipboard employees.
  • Ability to productively work under tight time constraints and stressful situations.
  • Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, co-workers, and shipyard employees.
  • Knowledge of automated human resources systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computers, Internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of Microsoft software packages such as Excel and Word.
  • Minimal travel; less than 10% may be required.
