The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Analyst, Fuel Planning reporting to the Manager Fleet Energy Analytics and Budget.
This position works on-site in Miami, Florida.
Position Summary:
The Fuel Planning team is looking for a Senior Analyst to join our exciting and growing team. This position will assist with financial month end closing duties and provide variance analysis related to fuel volume and expense. They will work directly with the Manager to follow up on the daily operations impacting energy consumption and expense. This candidate will apply analytical and data-driven techniques to measure and forecast the company’s Total Fuel Position and report the Fleets Operational Variances to upper-Management. With additional focus on the current market and regulations, the Senior Analyst will also lead updates on Long Range Consumption Plan, Strategic Deployment Model, and critical inputs to our Global Emissions Compliance strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating Fuel Consumption and Expense Planning with shipboard and shoreside marine teams and financial stakeholders.
- Maintain and enhance monthly consumption model.
- Monitor and track the Fleet’s operational fuel variances and performance irregularities.
- Develop and review Annual Energy and Fuel Consumption Plan - By Leg and Voyage.
- Monitor and review consistent alignment with Deployment department.
- Prepare and update Strategic Deployment Model, Long Range Consumption Plan.
- Prepare presentations and communications for Management and Executive Committee.
- Collaborate with Chief Engineers and Captains regarding energy optimization projects and fuel planning initiatives.
- Prepare presentations and communications for Management and Executive Committee.
- Perform Frequent Ad Hoc Analysis / Updates as requested by Upper Management.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Finance / Engineering / Business or other highly analytical field from an accredited college or university is required.
- Post graduate degree a plus.
- 5+ years of finance or engineering experience within marine or travel industry is preferred.
- Hands on experience using a data visualization tool, such as Power BI, Hyperion or Tableau.
- Strong Excel skills required.
- Strong analytics skill set is required for building and maintaining financial models.
- Need to possess long-term financial modeling and project/program management skills.
- Must be well organized, pay close attention to detail, possess strong planning, and time management skills and demonstrate the proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent critical thinking, verbal, and written communications skills, with strong confidence in communicating with senior managers and executives.
- Highly motivated, curious, collaborative, and innovative
- Ability to display data visually, creating powerful presentations which effectively quantify and justify value created to both analytical and non-analytical audiences.
