The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Sr. Analyst, Deployment Planning reporting to the Director, Corporate Deployment, PMO & Operations.

 

 

Position is onsite and based in Miami, FL 

 

The Corporate Deployment and Itinerary Planning team partners closely with colleagues enterprise-wide in addition to key stakeholders across the destinations we sail to with the objective of planning and executing unforgettable experiences onboard and on land. The Sr Analyst, Competitive & Performance Insights will support the Corporate Deployment and Itinerary Planning team by acting as a key leader across a portfolio of initiatives.  

 

Their mission? To own a variety of initiatives supporting deployment and itinerary planning, including sourcing, refining, and enhancing our deployment-related competitive data sources, and delivering those insights enterprise-wide through technology. 

 

This role will leverage these tools and keen insight to inform key decisions with regular updates and analysis of industry capacity and itinerary detail and trends.  Will also provide ongoing analysis on RCG deployment proposals. 

 

There will be exposure to senior management with the opportunity to work closely with Operations, Shore Ex, Destination Development, Marketing, Sales, Revenue Management, International, IT, Corporate Strategy, Branded deployment teams and other departments within the Company.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and execute competitive and ad hoc analyses and memos — including executive roadmaps linking internal and external market moves to strategic implications and ad hoc data requests — for distribution across audiences up to the senior executive level.  
  • Proactively partner with stakeholders across the business to concept new ad hoc analyses and identify opportunities to add them to the team’s ongoing analytics roadmap. 
  • Own the ongoing design and implementation, while partnering on development across RCG’s deployment- and pricing-related competitive intelligence tools — from business requirement gathering and vendor relationships through roll out and socialization across users, partnering with Revenue Management Planning on the data pipeline to ensure accuracy and consistency. This tool will be used across all brands and unlocks unprecedented access to competitive information across itineraries, destination usage, and pricing to plan faster, more accurately and scale more effectively as we continue to grow our fleet 
  • Own data validation oversight for the team’s competitive data pipelines, and drive automation of recurring analyses to reduce manual refresh work and scale reporting capacity. 
  • Measure and report on the accuracy of forecasts and models over time, driving continuous improvement and accountability in the insights delivered to senior stakeholders. 
  • Build strong relationships across the company to understand existing processes, outline requirements, and build cases for our future tools and processes.   
  • Oversee the development and execution of various projects and process improvement initiatives by coordinating across stakeholders to set the end goal and then break it out into a detailed plan. 
  • Evaluate solutions, balance competing priorities, and guide the projects to stay on budget and on schedule. 
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders, you will outline business requirements, make design decisions, and lead the rollout of long-term and high-impact initiatives that will reshape how we plan itineraries. 
  • Lead department-wide efforts to document our ways of working to reinforce best practices and standardize our processes, building a repository of knowledge to further support future analysis and automation.  
  • Develop presentations, trainings, and other materials for use in both internal and external settings, using your creativity to present the topic at hand in a compelling way.  

 

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university with a concentration in industrial engineering, data analytics, business, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • 1+ years of experience supporting technical projects and leading process improvement efforts. 
  • Excellent communication skills and an eye for detail: you are an expert at tailoring your message to best connect with your audience and bring others along, energizing them toward a shared mission 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerBI (or Tableau), and project management software.    
  • Cruise industry knowledge and/or experience preferred. 
  • Process improvement experience is required. 
  • Competency in computer systems and applications is essential, with an emphasis on the ability to access and manipulate data from a variety of sources including strong Excel, strong PowerPoint, basic Colonial/As400, Hyperion On-Demand, Power-BI is required 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to prepare strategic plans, committee presentations, etc. 
  • Ability to present and debate materials 
  • Strong decision making/analytical skills, judgment and aptitude for problem solving 
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of professional staff through both formal and informal reporting structures 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with different cultures.
