Position Summary
This is a hands-on senior editor role responsible for driving the editorial quality and delivery of social video across long-form YouTube and short-form platforms. The Senior Video Editor translates creative briefs into finished, platform-native, on-brand work and solves complex creative challenges in post-production and on set. Beyond technical execution, this role brings a clear creative point of view aligned with the brand voice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive the editorial quality and consistency of social video content across long-form YouTube and short-form vertical formats through high-quality, hands-on editing.
- Translate creative briefs into finished, platform-native, on-brand work, incorporating supporting graphic design elements such as carousels, banners, and end cards as needed.
- Provide input on editing standards and best practices used by the team without owning the process.
- Solve complex creative and technical challenges hands-on, both in post-production and on set or in production.
- Use AI generation tools to concept, generate, and refine visual content as part of the editing and production workflow.
- Bring strong creative judgment and brand-aligned craft to individual output, raising the bar through the quality of the work.
- Maintain brand consistency across all video and graphic output according to established style guides.
- Organize and manage raw and finished assets within the team’s digital asset library using proper naming and tagging conventions.
- Collaborate with copywriters, producers, editors, and Social Media and Marketing leadership to turn briefs into finished deliverables across formats.
- Travel approximately once per quarter to support onboard or location shoots and content productions.
- Stay current on platform-specific trends across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, and proactively recommend format and style opportunities.
- Manage multiple concurrent deliverables across different formats and turnaround times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
- Five or more years of professional experience as a video editor at an agency, in-house at a company, or working directly for a YouTuber or content creator, with a strong portfolio demonstrating quality and range.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Experience editing both short-form vertical content and long-form YouTube content.
- After Effects or motion graphics experience is strongly preferred.
- Camera operation and video capture skills are preferred but not required.
- Comfort with appearing on camera is preferred but not required.
- Comfort working across mobile and desktop editing tools.
- Strong editorial instincts, including the ability to shape compelling narratives through pacing, music, and visual rhythm.
- Strong creative instincts and the judgment to align technically excellent editing with brand voice and vision, bringing a clear point of view rather than only executing direction.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to shift between formats without sacrificing quality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivation, ability to work independently, and judgment to mentor less experienced editors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Design, Film or Video Production, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Familiarity with the cruise, hospitality, or broader travel industry is preferred but not required.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally on a quarterly basis for shoots.
