Specialist, Corporate Planning

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Specialist in Corporate Affairs plays a vital role in advancing the company's strategic initiatives by providing in-depth research, analysis, and project coordination support to the Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs. This position serves as a key contributor to our efforts in understanding political and social risks to the company, engaging with stakeholders, and driving informed decision-making within the Corporate Affairs function. Each day offers opportunities to contribute to impactful projects that align with our organizational goals, helping to shape the company’s strategic direction and strengthen our relationships with government and community partners.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct research and analysis on government policies, community trends, and public affairs issues to support strategic decision-making.
  2. Identify and map key stakeholders in government and community sectors relevant to ongoing initiatives.
  3. Monitor legislative, regulatory, and news developments impacting the organization; prepare summaries and briefs for internal teams.
  4. Assist in coordinating cross-functional projects, tracking progress against KPIs, milestones, and deliverables.
  5. Support strategic planning efforts by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data related to organizational goals and initiatives.
  6. Prepare presentations, reports, and briefings for Senior Management to communicate insights and strategic recommendations.
  7. Create visualizations such as graphs and schedules to summarize trends, relationships, and key findings.
  8. Assist in the development and maintenance of stakeholder engagement strategies and documentation.
  9. Contribute to special projects or initiatives as assigned to advance strategic priorities.
  10. Perform other duties as required.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; this position is entry-level. Candidates with one to three years of related financial and business analysis experience and/or training are preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Analytical skills should encompass financial (e.g., economics, accounting) and social sciences (e.g., political science, sociology).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.
  • Familiarity with programming and data analysis tools such as Python and Microsoft Power BI is preferred.
