Royal Caribbean Group’s Talent Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Shipboard L&D Implementor reporting to the Sr Dir, Shipboard Learning & Development.
Position Summary
The Shipboard L&D Implementor is a key member of the Talent team sitting within the Shipboard L&D area. It is responsible for supporting the implementation of learning and development initiatives across the ships and private destinations. Predominantly focused on the Hotel Operations, they will be designing, managing the deployment and follow up of learning programs. Whilst visiting ships for implementations, focus groups, feedback analysis and consistency assessments to support the Shipboard L&D strategy. They will track and provide valuable insights on the effectiveness of the learning programs onboard and on the private destinations.
They will play a key role in the management of the training matrix, ensuring alignment, updates and partnership with stakeholders and members of the Talent team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learning Programs/Talent Initiatives Implementation
- Design and create implementation for L&D programs for fleetwide and private destinations.
- Travel to ships/destinations to support the roll out and execution of the L&D programs and talent initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience preferred.
- Closely collaborate with L+D colleagues, SMEs, Talent team members throughout the planning, communication and deployment to ensure smooth execution.
- Be the support and ‘go-to person’ for the shipboard and private destination teams during the implementation process.
- Partner with the crew communications team to assist with the comms strategy, ensuring that the Shipboard L&D team are informed and involved where applicable.
- Support the Sr Manager with SME/stakeholder awareness and alignment.
Learning Effectiveness
- Support the Shipboard L&D team with content review of trainings; to ensure high standards and quality is maintained of learning programs for the business.
- Gather feedback through focus groups, interviews and surveys to review effectiveness of learning programs/talent initiatives.
- Whilst on feedback, liaise with leaders and crew to understand opportunities for improvement.
- Be able to communicate opportunities for changes/improvements to the talent team, stakeholders effectively.
- Partner with the Talent team members to ensure accurate reporting of metrics and KPIs.
Training Matrix
- Manage and maintain the training matrix, ensuring accuracy and visibility.
- Partner closely with Shipboard L&D team and RCLU team to ensure all updates are made in the system and policies.
- Regularly review and identify for potential opportunities for RCG alignment, course updates for consistency.
Project Work & Team Support
- Ensure the in-take tasks are assigned and the projects are updated to reflect incoming work that is assigned.
- Partner with the Sr Manager to ensure updates are accurately maintained in a timely manner.
- Support with the execution of projects, working closely with other Talent team members wider than the Shipboard L&D team.
- Attend and participate in team meetings, providing insights on key projects, metrics and feedback where applicable.
- Be able to produce presentations and meeting notes as and when required.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university focusing on adult learning, enterprise learning, human resource development or another related field.
- Work experience within the talent and/or learning and development environment.
- Work experience within the cruise industry, preferable.
- Instructional design experience and certifications, desirable.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Ability to identify potential opportunities for improvement of learning programs and communicate these insights effectively.
- Experience designing implementation plans for learning programs and skill-based frameworks, performance management, career development and succession planning processes across a globally diverse audience.
- Experience of creating presentations and analysing key metrics to communicate to leaders and ‘tell the story’.
- Hands-on experience of rolling out learning programs with minimal challenges,
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and partner with SMEs.
- Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work across multiple projects.
