Royal Caribbean Group’s Community Engagement Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Specialist, Community Engagement reporting to the Manager, Community Engagement.

 

This role will work onsite in Miami, Florida.

 

Position Summary / Job Purpose:

 

At Royal Caribbean Group we are focused on continuing to support the communities we visit through responsible tourism programs that promote ocean conservation, education and cultural and economic empowerment, and we are working to accelerate innovation that protects the health of our environment through conservation and community engagement projects.

 

Reporting to the Manager of Community Engagement, this position will play a key role in supporting the execution of community outreach and engagement globally through strategic engagement in key destinations. The Sr. Specialist will support with executing company-sponsored activities, managing sponsorships, supporting key events, and maintaining strategic stakeholder relationships ensuring that Royal Caribbean Group is visible in the community. The role requires effectively managing organizational and community relationships and engaging our external stakeholders. The ideal candidate approaches challenges with enthusiasm, effectively manages multiple initiatives and deadlines and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and can adjust plans as needed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Event Planning and Logistics

  • Coordinate logistics for key events/activities, including engagement with external partners and internal teams, and support post-event reporting
  • Lead meetings to brief internal stakeholder owners on event planning, logistics and execution
  • Collect post-activity impact metrics to evaluate engagement success.

 

Key Event Support & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Manage charitable events for inaugural sailings
  • Plan and execute notable plaque and key events by engaging external stakeholders.
  • Prepare ship event handover packet for Corporate Affairs representative to ensure they have the necessary details to execute the day of the event 

 

Community and Shipboard Employee Engagement

  • Develop a structured and branded educational immersion ship program
  • Partner with community organizations to identify shipboard employee volunteer opportunities aligned with our SEA the Future focus areas.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, accessible database of shipboard employee volunteer opportunities in key destinations.

 

Sponsorship Management

  • Coordinate the fulfillment of sponsorship opportunities, including collecting and distributing logos, branding materials, and recognition at events.
  • Facilitate employee participation in sponsored dinners, galas, and community activities

 

Grant Management

  • Assist in managing in-kind and grant applications through the Grants Connect portal, including tracking submissions, coordinating documentation, and ensuring timely follow-up

 

Gift and Recognition Items

  • Support the creation and management of a diverse offering of gifts and recognition items that the Government Relations team can present to government officials during meetings or official visits.

 

Travel Support

  • Support and coordinate travel arrangements to support ship events or community activities as needed, including potential travel to various locations globally.

 

Administrative and Reporting Support

  • Update SOPs as needed
  • Maintain detailed records of sponsorships, volunteer activities, events, impact metrics, grant applications, and gift inventories. Prepare reports to track engagement activities and overall community impact.

 

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 2-3 years of non-profit event planning, grant management, or CSR experience preferred.
  • Proven skills in event coordination, sponsorship, and grant execution; grant software experience (e.g., GrantsConnect) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management abilities.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, coordinating logistics, and working under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal teams and external organizations.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and resourcefulness, with a customer service mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Forms.
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
