The Royal Caribbean Group’s Royal Caribbean International Product Development Finance Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Senior Manager of Product Development Finance reporting to the AVP, Finance.
This position works on-site in Miami, Florida.
Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Product Development Finance, is a key leadership role within the RCI Finance team, responsible for capital budgeting, financial management, and forecasting for private destination projects (e.g. Perfect Days and Royal Beach Clubs). This includes oversight of departmental controllership activities such as payroll, G&A expenses, and capitalized labor across both land-based and shipboard initiatives.
This role manages a complex portfolio of high-profile, multi-departmental projects and requires strong leadership and coordination skills to align cross-functional teams, facilitate discussions, and consolidate inputs into clear, executive-level reporting. The position plays an active role throughout the full project development lifecycle, ensuring financial discipline and supporting decision-making from early planning through execution.
The Senior Manager leads day-to-day financial activities, oversees project financial professionals, and partners closely with internal stakeholders and external contractors to gather, analyze, and interpret data. This role is responsible for proactive planning, tracking, and reporting to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets, while also maintaining oversight of financial controls and contractual processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide financial leadership for the Product Development / Private Destinations portfolio, managing multiple large-scale programs composed of interconnected projects that enhance guest experiences.
- Foster the adoption of AI applications and establish the routine use of tools to support analysis, planning, forecasting, and reporting.
- Identify ways to improve accuracy, efficiency, and team member satisfaction through the focus on more enriching/engaging assignments.
- Develop and maintain the overall financial outlook for assigned programs by consolidating inputs from project managers and functional leads.
- Deliver monthly reporting and analysis of capital spend and forecasted performance to support executive decision-making and project governance.
- Monitor and manage capital requests, update forecasts based on actual performance and key assumptions, and oversee changes to project scope, including watch list items and amendments.
- Support the preparation of Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) memoranda to obtain formal approval for capital investments.
- Engage in contract discussions early in the process to ensure financial terms align with business expectations and include appropriate risk mitigation; guide contracts through review and approval processes.
- Partner closely with Product Development and other business teams to provide financial insights, anticipate risks, and support sound decision-making.
- Lead project financial planning, tracking, and status reporting activities to ensure delivery within budget and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Present financial results and project updates to various levels of the organization; coach and develop team members to effectively deliver similar presentations.
- Oversee monthly close activities related to project financials, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with company policies, and strong cost control practices.
- Manage accounting for capitalized labor, including review of monthly journal entries across all applicable projects.
- Promote a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement by challenging assumptions, asking critical questions, and identifying opportunities for value-added work.
- Review and approve financial components of business cases and presentations for special projects.
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members supporting the portfolio.
- Establish and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to ensure timely access to data and alignment across stakeholders.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with 10+ years of work experience as Finance Manager or similar position.
- Minimum 5-10 years of financial management experience for a large corporation, MBA preferred.
- Prior experience in overseeing and managing major capital improvement projects.
- Experience with Oracle ERP and strong understanding of the purchase-to-pay (P2P) process.
- Strong leadership experience with an emphasis on people management and partnering.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel and personality types.
