The Royal Caribbean Group’s Global Marine Operations Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Manager, Marine Operations reporting to the AVP, Global Marine Operations Strategy.

 

This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida

 

Position Summary:

 

As the Senior Manager, BPO (RCI), you will be a key driver of strategic initiatives that enhance the performance of our entire fleet and marine department at Royal Caribbean International (RCI). In this role, you’ll work closely with senior leadership across Global Marine Operations (GMO), Hotel Operations, Safety, Security and Public Health, Revenue, Human Resources, and Finance to ensure our business runs smoothly and efficiently, delivering on key objectives while identifying new opportunities for growth. You’ll work closely with RCI Marine and GMO leadership to prepare comprehensive positioning, strategy and planning documents to drive growth.

You'll be at the forefront of driving continuous improvement, crafting and executing strategies, and managing the performance of RCI’s Marine Operations. This position is not just about managing operations – it’s about being a change agent who bridges gaps, solves problems, and steers our teams toward success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the Charge: Drive the development of forward-thinking, multi-year strategies that fuel growth and optimize cost management across marine operations.

 

  • Craft the Future: Take ownership of RCI’s annual operating plan, ensuring it not only meets but exceeds our goals for operational excellence and efficiency.

 

  • Innovate and Elevate: Spearhead initiatives, streamline processes, enhance performance, and continuously improving the fleet’s success.

 

  • Collaborate and Conquer: Lead cross-functional teams to deliver special projects that align initiatives across departments, ensuring seamless execution and impactful results.

 

  • Keep Us Organized: Oversee the RCI drydock schedule, working together with stakeholders to ensure the flawless execution of essential maintenance and upgrades.

 

  • Drive Impact: Manage KPIs across the GMO organization, turning insights into action to drive measurable results.

 

  • Solve Problems: Develop and implement action plans based on fleet performance, ensuring we’re always one step ahead in solving challenges and maximizing opportunities.

 

  • Be the Go-To Leader: Serve as the primary point of contact for all onboard resource requirements, from cabins and logistics to funding, always ensuring smooth operations.

 

  • Manage with care: Prioritize and oversee the $70M+ annual marine capital plan, ensuring alignment with the broader brand strategy while driving the highest return on investment.

 

  • Collaborate: Partner with other GMO functions (Safety, Technical, Decarbonization, etc.) and across the organization (Newbuild, HR, and other departments) to deliver operational consistency and excellence.

 

  • Measure What Matters: Oversee the management of the fleet’s balanced scorecard and compensation processes, ensuring targets are met and the fleet’s performance stays ahead of the curve.

 

  • Master Communicator: Lead strategic communications between marine operations and the fleet, ensuring clarity and alignment across the board.

 

  • Change Agent: Take on additional responsibilities as needed, ensuring flexibility in driving marine operations forward under the direction of the AVP GMO Strategy, SVP Marine Operations, or other senior leadership.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, finance, marketing, engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

 

  • 10-12 years of experience in a senior business management role, ideally in the travel or leisure industry.

 

  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams, with a track record of driving successful initiatives and managing complex projects.

 

  • Strategic Thinker: Able to see the big picture while diving into the details to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

  • Creative Storyteller: Deliver operational messages and insights into presentations that are clear, impactful and visually engaging.

  • Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles, with strong analytical skills to evaluate business results and drive profitability.
