Royal Caribbean Group’s Talent Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Manager, Hotel Shipboard L&D reporting to the Senior Director, Shipboard L&D.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Senior Manager, Hotel Shipboard L&D role will serve as a key member of the Talent team, which is part of the Human Resources Department.  This role will report to the Senior Director, Shipboard L&D within the Talent Department.

 

This position is responsible for developing learning strategies and solutions for Shipboard related Hotel Operations supporting all brands of the Royal Caribbean Group.  

 

The Senior Manager, Shipboard L&D Hotel will liaise with key HR and Hotel business leaders to advise on, assess, create and implement training solutions across all crew within Hotel Ops.  The Senior Manager will directly manage a team of implementation team members and co-manage a team of content developers to achieve the L&D strategy for Shipboard Hotel functions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Drive the strategy and roadmap that aligns the learning objectives to Hotel business goals and priorities
  • Take a holistic view of the L&D strategy and partner closely with the other functions to ensure stakeholder involvement where applicable
  • Build relationships and partner directly with Hotel business leaders (Global Hotel & branded Hotel teams) to align on training needs, strategy, solutions and implementation prioritization for all Hotel Shipboard training with a  one RCG lens
  • Manage 2 - 3 implementation team members as they roll out end-to-end learning program operations, project teams and resources within a highly matrixed organization to ensure timely and on-budget execution of project deliverables and learning programs, gather and analyze evaluation/feedback and measure business impact.
  • Co-manage a team of ~2 content specialists to support the ideation, creation and refresh of any in-house training needs. 
  • Lead internal training audits to ensure that learning requirements are followed.
  • Build and strengthen the relationship with all key Hotel leaders in support of one holistic strategy across Shipboard Hotel Ops 
  • Drive cohesive and continuous communication with all brands via training roll outs and implementation. Ensure roll out communication plans incorporate the necessary complexities with Shipboard culture to reach maximum engagement with new and evolved training programs
  • Partner with Hotel and Technology to identify ways to gather insights and analytics from training interactions to proactively drive changes to learning programs. 
  • Support and drive L&D projects and initiatives across Hotel and partner closely with the other functions of Marine and HR

 

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Hotel to manage short to long-term vendor and financial budget strategies related to training efforts. 
  • Work collaboratively with Senior and Executive leadership on strategic plan progress and targets. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS: 

  • Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Science in a related field required.  
  • 8+  years in an HR/ learning and development role preferred
  • Experience managing facilitators, trainers, instructional designers, content specialist and or quality assurance functions.
  • Must be amenable to travel 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public  
  • Able to identify training needs, conduct research, draw upon a variety of resources, propose targeted and creative solutions, and translate ideas into action Possess strong leadership skills Able to manage change, anticipate needs, and make recommendations for improvement
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to Demonstrate strong initiative
  • Possess effective facilitation and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate consulting, project management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate effective questioning and listening skills
  • Must be able to utilize a variety of instructional methods to fit the needs of the learner
