Senior Manager, HR Workforce Planning

The Royal Caribbean Group’s Workforce Strategy & Movement team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Sr. Manager, HR Workforce Planning reporting to the AVP, CAM Operations 

 
This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida

 

Position Summary: 

This position is responsible for the strategic planning of the shipboard workforce for the designated brand. This includes strategic leadership in par level management, succession planning, demographic and diversity planning and tracking, and new hire placement for the brand. This position will work daily in close partnership with CAM Planning team, Brand Operations Leaders, Shipboard HR Business Partners, and shipboard teams as well as collaborate with colleagues in HR shared services, including Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Scheduling, and Travel. 

 

This role will organize the different strategical approaches and execution tasks applied to guarantee the flawless continuation of service. Review the global scheduling needs for RCI, CCI, and TUI brands including new builds, modernizations, and special projects in managing the scheduling team to fulfill the needs to par. Employees may be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Engage with the operations brand leaders and maintaining constant interaction to ensure all objectives are captured and met.  

  • Strategic workforce planning based on business needs (par, demographic, nationalities, skills, etc), focusing on scheduling and logistics optimization to meet the needs of the fleet 

  • Inform and updates leadership regarding the status of the planning and bring to light any potential obstacles ahead. 

  • Works closely with functional areas to clearly understand current and future sourcing needs and plan accordingly. This includes ensuring that new hires are moved from the gap pool in a timely manner and that, in collaboration with the appropriate operational partners when applicable, active crew members are properly assigned into new roles from the pipeline based on guidance from CAM Planning team. 

  • Collaborates and strategize to ensure shipboard manning is successfully exceeding expectation 

  • Provides directional strategic inputs to enhance HR operations response to the business needs 

  • Assures contingent plans are in place to address any CAM HR Operational challenges and risks that could arise. 

  • Provide real time solutions to business issues for operational success. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree (or International equivalent) from an accredited university or college in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field is required or 10 years senior management experience in human resources / shipboard experience an advantage 

  • Minimum five years progressive experience in Human Resource Management 

  • Minimum of three years in employee relations investigating, negotiating and resolving grievances and conflicts, preferably in a multi-cultural, diverse environment 

  • Strong analytical and written communication skills 

  • Communicates tactfully, effectively and confidently with various business groups, HR function heads and shipboard management teams 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint 

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal. 

  • Ability to speak additional languages for the APAC region an advantage 

 

Knowledge And Skills: 

  • A strong leader with an open and direct style, one who practices participative management and team building. 

  • Highly organized and experienced in managing diverse groups. 

  • Possess strong analytic and communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience in presenting complex ideas/concepts to senior-level management. 

  • Possesses strong technical accounting skills. Effective use of common sense and ability to relate to and consult to/with senior management will be imperative. 

 

Financial Responsibilities: 

  • The Manager has the shared responsibility for CAM management relative to crew movement across the fleet.
