Royal Caribbean Group’s Newbuild Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy reporting to the Director, Newbuild Commercial Strategy.

 

This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida

 

Position Summary: 

 

In this position, you would be a key member of the Newbuild and Innovation team reporting directly to Director, Newbuild Commercial Strategy. The Senior Manager of Commercial Strategy supports the team that will be responsible for commercial and risk management for existing fleet and newbuild portfolio. This role will have significant responsibility in managing the transactional activities along with helping support the company’s agenda for major strategic initiatives related to the future of newbuilding. You would work directly with the Newbuild leadership team cross-functionally to generate and/or drive broad ranging strategic initiatives, evaluate organic growth opportunities and lead the generation of analytically driven and actionable insights to influence activities across the organization. This position needs to have the experience, maturity, and confidence to interface with company executives, external deal intermediaries, business owners and humble self-aware personal styles that enable them to lead cross-functional teams to consensus around solutions. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

 

  • Oversees strategic analysis and develops a plan to assess industry and competitive landscape, areas of strategic focus, and growth opportunities related to our newbuild portfolio.   

  • Develops and maintain relations with key industry participants and potential targets.  

  • Manages the team to conduct and maintain significant ownership of analysis and vetting of potential targets for strategic fit and financial impact on RCG and present to leadership team. 

  • Supports business drivers and inputs, refine, and oversee financial and valuation analysis done by Sr. Analysts and outside advisors.  

  • Coordinate due diligence efforts with target executive team, outside advisors, and internal subject matter experts.  

  • Manages the reporting on due diligence findings and provide summaries to internal leadership team 

  • Manages internal operational teams and functional leaders identify key issues and conduct additional / follow-up due diligence work streams.  

  • Manage significant deal structuring and negotiations.  

  • Oversees internal teams on implementation and integration planning.  

  • Motivates and engages direct reports, including providing day-to-day direction, mentorship, and coaching. 

 

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills: 

 

  • Bachelor’s and MBA required; CFA preferred.  

  • 8-10 years of experience of investment banking, consulting, or private equity experience AND 2-3 of corporate development or direct investment experience (minimum of 8 years total experience)  

  • Cruise or travel industry experience a strong plus.  

  • Strong financial modeling, P&L forecasting, and business plan analysis experience. 

  • Excellent writing and presentation creation skills. 

  • Excellent organizational, communication and peer management skills. 

  • Extensive experience with legal contracts, data rooms, and understanding of business terms. 

  • Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, a strong desire to learn, and passion for creating an excellent work product. 

  • Demonstrated team player with ability to manage and develop analysts.
