The Royal Caribbean Group’s Digital team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Lead, Digital Operations Engineering reporting to the Senior Director, Digital Engineering.
This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida.
The Senior Lead, Digital Operations Engineering will be instrumental in driving engineering excellence and operational efficiency for Royal Caribbean Group's digital platforms. This role involves providing technical leadership, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the strategic direction of our technology landscape. The ideal candidate will have a robust engineering background, strong problem-solving skills, and a track record of managing complex technology projects from inception to completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy and Vision:
- Contribute to the strategic direction for engineering functions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technological advancements.
- Develop and maintain a product and technology roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders, focusing on enhancing the guest and employee experience.
Technical Leadership and Excellence:
- Provide expert guidance on engineering best practices, advanced technologies, and emerging trends.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of high-quality technology solutions.
- Ensure the successful launch and ongoing optimization of technology products from ideation through implementation.
Operational Excellence:
- Enhance the reliability and performance of our digital platforms through proactive monitoring, automation, and instrumentation.
- Lead efforts to reduce technical debt, improve system stability, and ensure operational readiness for peak seasons.
- Implement and enforce best practices in project delivery, quality control, and safety.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver impactful solutions.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
- Serve as the main liaison for design-related updates to core project teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
Project Management and Delivery:
- Coordinate project efforts from conception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Prepare strategic plans for project success and actively manage project communications and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior engineering or technical leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field required
- Proven track record of leading large-scale technology projects through the development and delivery phases.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Deep expertise in engineering principles, software development lifecycle, and agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of modern technology stacks, cloud services, and DevOps practices.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Results-oriented with a proven ability to drive initiatives from strategy to execution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and translate ideas into actionable plans.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and achieving results through others.
