The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Financial Analyst, Marketing reporting to the Manager, Commercial Finance.
Position is onsite and based in Miami, FL
The Senior Financial Analyst, Marketing supports the financial forecasting and administration of Marketing sales & marketing activities, capital planning, and analysis of business initiatives. The Senior Financial Analyst, Marketing is a key player with the Finance Department and Marketing Department leadership teams and responsible for ensuring that all activity with financial implications are within financial guidelines, are properly structured and properly accounted (SOX / GAAP) for in the financial systems. The candidate must have a strong understanding of financial systems, flow of data, and accounting principles in order to lead the department financials and initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and utilize strong understanding of accounting principles to support the management of financial and strategic initiatives with limited impact to operating plan.
- Create and analyze forecasts and planning for Media and Production activities, as well as completing month end manual accruals/reconciliation.
- Maintain continuous contact with Media and Production directors to keep current on business developments.
- Coordinate, conduct and summarize various analyses, as determined by Senior Management, in support of both strategic and operational decision making.
- Translate analytics into the stakeholder’s native language and tell stories to make complex things simple to understand and translate into measurable actions.
- Partner with the Finance organization, including Accounting, to make sure accuracy and timeliness of reporting and invoice processing.
- Project collaboration in multi-functional team settings, champion partnership within finance and marketing teams to execute against challenging deadlines.
- Assist in the development and implementation of benchmark reports for operating groups.
- Support marketing & finance team in the transition to new Oracle ERP and transition to PO processes
- Identify opportunities to improve operating performance through information gathering and analysis.
- Provide analysis, insights, and recommendations on projects such as forecast process improvements. Support financial leadership in providing training to budget holders on best practices.
- Assist with ad-hoc questions/ issues/projects as they arise, making recommendations where appropriate.
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of financial models to be used in economic/financial research and analyses for use in the development of business strategies and in subsequent analyses of results (e.g. credit card rewards program maintenance and reporting).
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, corporate finance, Accounting or related roles, preferably within hospitality, travel, or leisure industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline; advanced certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.
- Master's degree/CPA helpful.
- Proven project management experience.
- Proven experience in supporting and interpreting reporting using Access or Business Intelligence tools (Hyperion Experience a plus).
- Proven knowledge of financial systems (JDE and ESSBASE a plus).
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Understanding of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ability to present information to executive management, internal and external customers clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
- Experience using Hyperion/Brio Reporting, Essbase, and JD Edwards tools.
- Database knowledge experience using Microsoft Excel, Access, Power Point, Word.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times, take ownership of situations and escalate issues to the appropriate party for immediate resolution.
