The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Senior Financial Analyst, E-Commerce that will report to the Senior Manager, Finance Ecommerce & Technology Investment.

 

Position is onsite and based in Miami, FL 

 

The Senior Financial Analyst role includes forecasting, planning, reporting, and accounting for the Growth & Digital organization. 

 

The role will collaborate closely with operational leaders/management to handle operational budgets and project financials, responsible for creating and delivering financial reports that enable timely decision-making and are compliant with RCG’s policies and procedures.  Maintaining and developing when needed, effective financial processes and controls is critical.

 

The role will coordinate with many levels within the organization to gather, analyze, and summarize relevant information to create/maintain budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans. It is important that the role maintains continuous contact with operating and capital groups to stay current with business developments and incorporate changes into forecasts and plans.

 

The role involves performing financial activities including cost planning, cost estimates, financial analyses, cost reduction initiative tracking, monthly detailed accounting entries, and forecasting of specific organization costs. 

 

The candidate must have a broad background in industry best practices and performance metrics, as well as financial and accounting acumen.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for referenced activity, in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Perform forecasting and accounting for specific organization costs including variance analyses. 
  • Provide reporting and scorecard metrics for Growth & Digital management team including detailed variance analyses for actuals compared to plans/forecasts. 
  • Facilitate metric re-designs, as needed, to provide the management team with result indicators to manage financials effectively.
  • Re-design/develop reporting, as needed, to accommodate operational requests and provide guidance to meet or exceed financial goals.
  • Analyze month-end variances and submit explanations timely to management and accounting/finance organization. 
  • Provide detailed monthly, quarterly, and YoY analyses on operating plan performance.
  • Improve financial status/awareness by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management. 
  • Develop and prepare financial models, presenting and analyzing financial data in current status and what-if scenarios.
  • Work collaboratively with various teams to ensure contract renewals and invoice payments are completed timely.
  • Review and approve requisition/purchase orders and AP workflows (Tungsten) for proper coding and budget funding confirmation.
  • Review agreements to determine accounting treatment and ensure terms meet company guidelines/initiatives including cash flow metrics. 
  • Assist Operations and Corporate/Capital Planning with capital budgeting and analysis. Support the operating team with capital memo submissions, validate capital financials and business case, monitor and track the spending curves and consolidate write-offs.
  • Partner with Product Owners and Supply Chain organization to review and analyze contract details and business cases, providing recommendations.
  • Formulate efficient research plans for analyzing large amounts of data and presenting conclusions and recommendations.
  • Special projects involvement/ownership, as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • CPA/MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years related work experience.
  • Experience applying finance and accounting principles. 
  • Experience with U.S. GAAP adherence required.
  • Technology-related finance/accounting experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley controls and testing.
  • Experience with JD Edwards/Oracle applications & Essbase/EPM is highly preferred.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organization, verbal & written communication skills.  Working with team/function members across all levels within an organization.
  • Advanced analytical skill set including critical thinking.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint.  
  • Advanced analytical skills should include mathematical modeling; broad exposure to operations research, and statistics is a plus.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to work under tight timelines, prioritizing assignments as needed.
  • Must work independently with tasks assigned.
  • Must be able to type proficiently.
