This position will be working onsite from Miami.    

 

Position Summary: 

The Senior Digital Media Editor is responsible for image correction and manipulation to maintain the high standard of consistency and quality associated with Royal Caribbean International. Must be able to work in collaboration and take art direction from Creative Managers, Photographers, Designers and Project Managers to produce images that will be used by Global marketing channels. The Senior Digital Media Editor must have an artistic eye for color treatments and a keen eye for detail. In addition to digital image retouching they will need to provide backup to the Creative Lead or Manager at times helping with various video editing, videography and photography tasks, and occasionally provide guidance and direction to other media editors. May include traveling to work on RCI productions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Retouch images for use in online and print creative.
  • Responsible for high-resolution digital retouching for a variety of imagery including products and people. 
  • Create composite images from multiple image sources. 
  • Create background extensions. 
  • Perform complex retouch tasks such as replacing textures on fabric materials, re-lighting products and environments, correcting banding and moiré issues.
  • Photo asset organization while uploading to our internal server and providing assets to the DAM team. 
  • Maintain images on the design team server. 
  • Add metadata to photos to help with search functionality.
  • Assist Creative Lead or Manager with pre and post production for asset shoots usually involving photo selection process.
  • Occasionally provide guidance and direction to other media editors.
  • Edits videos from scratch following a script and color corrects video content using Adobe Premiere Pro adding motion graphics and effects in Adobe After Effects.  
  • Creates master clips and encodes to multiple formats for distribution.
  • Create shot lists, attend pertinent meetings, review RAW assets, provide direction/critique to other editors and work with the DAM team for distribution.
     

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years experience in video editing & image retouching.
  • Cruise, travel or hospitality environment a plus.
  • Drone Pilot as a plus. 
  • Must have a working knowledge of printing processes to ensure print feasibility, color adjustment and file building techniques. 
  • Must have a working knowledge of digital media to ensure color adjustment and file building techniques 
  • Strong color management & color theory skill set required. 
  • Can tailor material for web delivery and distribution.
  • Expert working knowledge of Photoshop, layers, masks, paths, color correction tools, actions and non-destructive workflow. 
  • Understanding of current and emerging digital media formats and editing trends, as well as encoding schemes and channels of distribution. 
  • Working knowledge of broadcast television, video production, interactive television and non-linear editing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to follow creative direction from senior team members & build upon creative ideas when needed. 
  • Ability to provide guidance and constructive criticism to other editors.
  • Knowledge of sound editing.
  • Knowledge of advanced color grading techniques.
  • Ability to use DSLR camera a plus. 
  • Ability to use digital cine camera, studio camera, or professional camcorders a plus.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Time management/Project management skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Collaboration skills.
  • He/she must also be creative, detail-oriented, highly organized.
  • Hunger to learn continuing developments in the field.
