Senior Analyst, Deployment Strategy

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sr. Analyst Deployment Strategy position will influence the strategic direction and financial performance of the company and will look for synergies and opportunities for the Silversea brand to consider.  This position will conduct quantitative analyses, competitive research, and market analyses to drive the strategic and detailed itinerary planning.  The analyst will also identify new ports to be considered for investment or inclusion on their region’s respective itineraries. 

The role will work with cross-functionally to confirm and execute the desired itineraries.  The Sr. Analyst will partner with various ports, port agents, destinations as well as several internal teams to resolve berth congestion and optimize the fleet’s itineraries.  Will incorporate various constraints among others but including environmental, infrastructure, geopolitical, weather into the detailed planning. 

There will be significant exposure to senior management with the opportunity to work closely with Operations, Destination Experiences, Marketing, Sales, Revenue Management, International and other departments within the brand. 

Assignments within Deployment and Itinerary Planning will typically involve quantitative and qualitative analysis of a competitive situation, development of recommendations, and written and/or oral presentation of those recommendations to Senior Management.  Assignments will vary and may include one or more of the following: 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Work closely with key departments throughout the organization to facilitate the deployment process to increase their profit potential and guest satisfaction balancing all constraints and provide recommendations to senior and executive management 
  • Manage and update ship deployment files to reflect any itinerary decisions and/or changes 
  • Assist in compiling deployment itinerary details for bi-weekly brand and executive meetings 
  • Continuous improvement of the process and tools needed to execute deployment planning 
  • Liaise with ports, governments, and other stakeholders in destinations around the world to guide continual improvement in the quality of our itineraries and identification of new ports of call 
  • Partner with the Deployment Ops team to track port responses, provide solutions on berthing conflicts and ensure products are confirmed before going out for sale 
  • Coordinate itinerary changes and seek approval of new itineraries from various internal departments 
  • Engage with Marine, Hotel, Revenue Management on dry dock proposals and timing 
  • Work closely with charter sales teams to validate itinerary proposals

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or (BBA.) from a four-year college or university is required. MBA or equivalent desired.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

  • Must be able to think creatively

  • Proactive mindset 
  • Experience in cruise line itinerary planning and or revenue management preferred 
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and problem identification. 
  • Ability to structure logically quantitative analyses of complex issues. 
  • Advanced MS Excel skills are essential, with an emphasis on the ability to access and manipulate data from a variety of sources. 
  • Ability to operate within a cross-functional environment. Willingness to accept immediate project responsibility. 
  • Ability to effectively use oral and written communication. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and use proper judgment. 
  • In-depth knowledge of the cruise industry is preferred but not as important as the desire and ability to learn quickly 

 

 

FINANCIAL/QUANTITIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
