Royal Caribbean Group’s Global Marine Operations (GMO) Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Senior Analyst, Decarbonization. 

 

 

This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida 

 

 

Position Summary 

The Sr. Analyst, Regulatory Intelligence, Reporting, Green Finance & LCA provides foundational analytical, data, and coordination support across the company’s regulatory intelligence, emissions and sustainability reporting, greenfinance analysis, and lifecycle assessment (LCA) activities. 

Working under the guidance of a manager, this role supports the translation of complex environmental and financial regulations into accurate datasets, structured analyses, and reliable reporting outputs that inform decarbonization decisionmaking and governance. The Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring data quality, methodological consistency, and auditready documentation across regulatory and sustainability requirements. 

This role is execution focused and analytical in nature and contributes to highquality inputs, rigor, and structure that enable Managers and Directors to make informed decisions. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

1) Regulatory Tracking & Intelligence Support 

  • Tracks maritime decarbonization regulations relevant to assigned scope (e.g., IMO, EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, UK ETS, CSRD). 

  • Summarize regulatory updates, guidance documents, and consultations into clear briefing notes for internal use. 

  • Maintain regulatory trackers, timelines, and reference materials under Manager guidance. 

  • Provides comparison of regulatory requirements across regions and frameworks. 

2) Emissions, Sustainability & Compliance Reporting Support 

  • Collect, validate, and organize emissions, fuel, and operational data supporting regulatory and sustainability reporting. 

  • Lead preparation of datasets and documentation for: EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime compliance; Internal decarbonization KPIs and dashboards; Sustainability and ESG disclosures (e.g., CSRDaligned inputs) 

  • Perform data checks, reconciliations, and quality reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency. 

  • Maintain clear audit trails and supporting documentation for verification and assurance processes. 

3) Green Finance & Carbon Economics Analytics 

  • Provide analysis of carbon pricing exposure (e.g., EU ETS, UK ETS) by preparing inputs, calculations, and scenario comparisons. 

  • Track allowance positions, forecast vs. actual performance, and compliance impacts. 

  • Support development of analytical inputs used in compliance strategy evaluations (e.g., pooling, banking, fuel switching). 

  • Prepare structured tables, charts, and summaries that translate emissions data into financial insights. 

4) LifeCycle Assessment (LCA) & Methodology Development 

  • Lead application of lifecycle assessment (LCA) methodologies for fuels, technologies, and operational measures. 

  • Compile and maintain emission of factors, assumptions, boundaries, and data sources. Share regular updates on key information to support methodology development. 

  • Help ensure consistency with recognized standards (e.g., ISObased approaches, regulatory welltowake definitions). 

  • Validate and document methodological choices used in analyses and reporting. 

5) Data Quality, Controls & Governance Support 

  • Maintain structured datasets, models, and documentation used for regulatory, financial, and sustainability reporting. 

  • Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution processes. 

  • Document assumptions, methodologies, and calculation logic clearly and consistently. 

  • Develop improvement of tools, templates, and workflows in collaboration with the Manager and Digital/Data teams. 

6) Stakeholder Coordination & Communication Support 

  • Coordinate data and input requests with Marine Operations, Fuel, Finance, and Corporate Responsibility teams. 

  • Prepare draft presentation materials, dashboards, and briefing packs for Manager and Director reviews. 

  • Conduct workshops and working sessions by preparing materials, analysis, and summary outputs. 

  • Interface with external consultants and verifiers as required under Manager supervision.

Qualifications and Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Economics, Finance, Maritime Studies, or related discipline. 

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in sustainability, regulatory analysis, emissions reporting, data analytics, finance, or related roles. 

  • Interest in or exposure to maritime, energy, infrastructure, or other regulated sectors preferred. 

  • Foundational understanding of GHG accounting, emissions, metrics, and lifecycle thinking. 

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and data quality. 

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with dashboards or BI tools necessary. 

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to summarize complex information effectively. 

  • Wellorganized, proactive, and comfortable working in a structured but evolving environment.

  • Reliable analytical contributor: Produces accurate, structured, and welldocumented analysis others can depend on. Strong data analytical skills. Ability to sparse out key metrics from large data sets.
