Project Manager, Process & System Improvement

Position Summary:

As the Project Manager of Process and System Improvement in the Hotel Operations, you will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence and enhancing efficiency in both shoreside and shipboard systems to drive guest and crew satisfaction. Located in Miami, FL, you will be part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment within the cruise industry.  You will facilitate operational changes that will continue to promote Royal Caribbean Internationals culture of data-driven product thinking and innovation.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own initiatives to identify and implement process improvements in both shoreside and shipboard systems, utilizing your expertise in artificial intelligence and power BI.
  • Own and manage the relationships with cross-functional teams to drive efficiencies in key areas, ensuring seamless integration of systems and processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve operational excellence, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and guest / crew satisfaction.
  • Guide the IT team and various other business partners, product owners and peers to deliver quality solutions on schedule and within budget.
  • Analyze data and identify opportunities for finding efficiencies, streamlining operations, and enhancing the overall guest experience.
  • Modify and enhance IT systems to allow for more streamlined processes and improved data analysis.
  • Provide proactive thought leadership to identify, test and validate a variety of products, programs, and vendors/partners to keep the team up-to-speed and continually evolve our mission.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document business requirements for system enhancements and modifications.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented process improvements and system changes, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of industry standards.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in process improvement, system optimization, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in utilizing artificial intelligence and power BI for data analysis and process optimization.
  • Experience working in the cruise industry or a maritime setting is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading process improvement initiatives and driving operational excellence.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to take personal initiative.
  • Ability to assemble, lead and influence cross functional teams to develop strategies that include input and buy-in from all stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems and their integration with business processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
