Royal Caribbean Group’s Sales Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Planner, Special Events reporting to the Manager, Brand Events.
This position will be working onsite from Miami.
Position Summary:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for project management and execution of Sales & Brand events for Celebrity Cruises, including planning, logistics, communication, and execution, with and under the direction of the Event Manager.
- Plan and develop concept creation, manage timelines, source venues, and other event specifics
- Maintain budgets accurately with vendor sourcing including but not limited to accommodations, transfers, catering, A/V, signage, decor, and activations.
- Oversee invite list, invitation & registration process including updating invitation database and systems.
- Exercise creativity when planning events including decor, technology, activations, etc., while learning from and improving upon each event experience.
- Project management of events with other support departments/ vendors/ event helpers.
- Manage or assist with full production of an event from load in to load out
- Update or enhance procedures for Special Event tasks.
- Update comprehensive databases of industry contacts, vendors and venues
- Coordinate with Travel Partners, Associations, and other external groups as needed to create events from idea to execution.
- Maintain ongoing communication & updates to the client/event owner/Event Manager.

- Maintain records of all event aspects including financial details to ensure budget is not exceeded. Negotiate contracts with venues, vendors, etc. and manage corresponding payments and invoicing as well as accruals when needed.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or Certified Event Planner (preferred)
- 3 years’ events experience
- A combination of relevant experience, education, and/or event planning certification will be considered in lieu of the preferred requirements.
- AS400 Reservation system (plus), conference tools, floor plan systems, project management
- Microsoft Office proficiency—Advanced Excel (Vlookups, pivot tables, formulas) and PowerPoint required; Canva proficiency preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective presentation skills for diverse audiences and settings (groups, leadership, etc.)
- Innovative and creative approach
- Requires up to 30% of travel, occasionally up to (20) consecutive days
- Strong problem-solving skills, specifically in logistics and event planning; able to thrive under pressure, maintain enthusiasm, and high energy while meeting deadlines.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive rapport & beneficial working relationships with business partners and stakeholders.
- Ability to speak and present to individuals, groups, senior leaders, internal and external audiences
